E! debuted Ashlee + Evan earlier this week. The new reality show follows the lives of Jessica Simpson's younger sister Ashlee and Diana Ross' son Evan and their cast of besties, which includes Naz Tokio, a Grammy-nominated artist in the Dance/Electronic music category. Her official Facebook page bio says "Hopped off a Spaceship of Aliens & Crashed landed on a Spaceship of Monkeys!" She is one of Ashlee and Evan's besties. Who is Naz Tokio, though?
1. She's a Grammy-nominated artist
Naz Tokio is a songwriter who has written songs for Iggy Azalea, T.I. and Diplo, among others. She's also a Grammy-nominated singer and recording artist whose songs have been featured in Daddy's Home 2 and One For The Money. She recently shot a music video for her upcoming single, which will be distributed by Pitbull's label Mr.305.
2. She's close to her mom
Naz took time out from her busy schedule to wish her mom a Happy Mother's Day on Instagram complete with vintage photos.
3. She's close to her dad
When Father's Day rolled around, Naz also took to Instagram to express her gratefulness for her dad. She once again posted a number of vintage photos of her father.
4. Her music is featured in HBO's Ballers
Naz recorded a single called Samson with Lauren Hashian which is featured in the fourth season of the HBO's series Ballers, starring Dwayne Johnson. "'Samson' is a song about reminding a person you love that they are worthy, beautiful, and powerful — especially in times of weakness," says Naz Tokio. "It's a reminder that you are there to fight their battles right alongside them…their warrior and their protector kissing their demons away."
5. She has a sense of humor
Naz has a sense of humor. She shared the meme below on her Instagram to laugh about how so many of us are healthy AF Mon-Fri and then binger eaters/drinkers on the weekend.
6. She calls Evan Ross her brother.
On Evan Ross' birthday, Nas posted a photo of him with his daughter on Instagram and captioned it: "HAAAPPPYYY BIRTTHDAAAY TO MY BROFACE @realevanross !! No one deserves more happiness and love in the world than you because that is all you give to your loved ones! You have shown me what real love is by watching you as a father to Jagger, you as a husband to my baby love @ashleesimpsonross , and you as a brother and you as a best friend to me ... 7. Her social media
Naz appears to have a strong group of friends in her life and she celebrates them on her Instagram account. In the photo below, she congratulated friends on their marriage, saying, "CONGRATS TO MY BROTHER for life @therealtank & @zenafoster Mr & Mrs!! I’m so happy to have witnessed the beginning of you guys journey & to see you today FINALLY MAKE OFFICIAL before your loved ones and God!! A cord of 3 strands cannot be broken! Keep God in UR life and last till the end!! But we all know this is a marriage that WILL BE FOREVER! YOU BOTH LOVE AND ACCEPT EACH OTHER FOR WHO YOU ARE! I AM OVERJOYED TODAY!! #abouttime"
8. She is devoted to charity.
Naz is an advocate for the charity Unlikely Heroes, which is dedicated to saving the lives of little girls that were forced into sex trafficking. She posted the photo below from an event for the charity and captioned it:"#unlikelyheroes Is one of the greatest charities I’ve ever seen...saving the lives of little girls that were tortured in sex trafficking. They support these girls financially and mentally so that can have normal & Successful lives! Got to share this moment with my bro @iamrilan !! @shanestevensmusic Thank you for being Awesome!!"
