Listen, having a roommate is definitely not all bad. Sure, you’re sharing space, precious oxygen, and most likely half of your wardrobe with another person. But in return, you get companionship, half of their wardrobe, and at least one person guaranteed to notice if you never make it back alive from that Tinder date.
There are all kinds of upsides to having a roommate, and I’m not just talking about splitting the rent. Need a second opinion on your outfit? Your roomie will tell you what your mirror can’t. Gotta vent about your day?
Your roommate is there for you because she literally lives there. Accidentally tore through that entire box of Oreos a little faster than you planned? Just pretend your roommate must have been eating them when you weren’t looking, problem solved!
Of course, for every roomie-turned-built-in-BFF fairytale, there are about ten roommate horror stories. From stolen food to stolen boyfriends, there’s a lot that can go wrong when it comes to sharing your living space with another person.
Whether your roommate situation is a nightmare or a daydream all comes down to personality types, and a person’s zodiac sign can tell you a lot about how they’ll be as a roommate. While your horoscope probably can’t tell you that your roommate is going to steal your favorite bodysuit and spill vodka cran all over it this weekend, astrology can help predict how you two will (or won’t) jive as roomies.
Of course, some zodiac signs thrive while others just don’t vibe, but there are a few specific horoscope signs that are almost always likely to cause trouble at home. Whether they’re prone to lying, sloppiness, or they’re just plain hard to get along with, these 4 zodiac signs can make the worst roommates.

GEMINI (May 21 - June 20)
You saw this one coming, right? It’s no secret that Geminis have a bit of reputation in the zodiac community. Let’s face it, Geminis are known for being a little on the sneaky side.
Let’s put it this way, your Gemini roommate is the one most likely to take your clothes without asking and lie about it, the most likely to steal your boyfriend, and the most likely to talk about you behind your back with your other roommate.
On the plus side, life with a Gemini roommate will never be boring. They’ll always be up for going out or hosting at your place. That said, if you value quiet and your alone time, you probably don’t want to share keys with a Gemini.
SCORPIO (October 23 - November 21)
Not into drama? Don’t live with a Scorpio. Scorpios are known for their passionate natures, which often translates into moodiness. Keeping the peace is not a Scorpio’s main priority, and little things can set them off. Be prepared for fights and unpredictable mood swings with this roommate.
That famous Scorpio passion also applies in the bedroom, so you can expect this roommate to bring home plenty of overnight guests. Oh, and get your earplugs ready, because these will probably be some pretty loud hookup sessions. And if you two go out together, they are absolutely the type to ditch you and head home with a hot stranger, so make sure you have your key on you. Yes, Scorpio is THAT roommate.
SAGITTARIUS (November 22 - December 21)
Sagittarians make great friends but terrible roommates for one main reason: they’re the slobs of the zodiac. This zodiac sign is fun-loving and well-meaning, but if you’re a neat freak, their haphazard approach to housekeeping is going to be a deal breaker.
Sagittarians really do mean well, but their fast-paced, energetic approach to life means staying tidy just isn’t a top priority. To make matters worse, their genuine good intentions and friendliness will make you feel guilty every time you get mad at them for leaving their dishes in the sink yet again. If messiness is no object, then your Sag friend may be your dream roommate. But if you value a tidy house, it’s best not to room with a Sagittarius.
CAPRICORN (December 22 - January 19)
Your home should be a safe space where you can chill out, be your true self, and spend all weekend watching Netflix when you need to without judgment. When you’re living with a Capricorn, your home is the opposite of a judgment-free zone.
Capricorn is the zodiac’s resident know-it-all, and they’re not afraid to show it. They want to help everyone live their best life, and they’re pretty sure they know what’s best for you— and that they know it much better than you do.
Whether it’s your taste in television, your five-year plan, or your oral health habits, you can bet your Capricorn roommate has an opinion on it, and it’s only a matter of time before they share that opinion with you. If you want a judgment-free space to enjoy your downtime, weird habits, and junk food in peace, you definitely don’t want to invite a Capricorn into your home.
