Who is Brendon Urie's wife? Panic! at the Disco's Brendon Urie dropped a bombshell today. He came out as pansexual, meaning he is attracted to both women and men. He got married to Sarah Orzechowski in 2013. Did she know? How does she feel about her husband's sexual fluidity? We've got the details.
1. A person is a person
Brendon Urie isn't making a big deal of his announcement, or, for that matter, his sexual orientation. He told Paper magazine, "Yeah I guess you could qualify me as pansexual because I really don't care. If a person is great, then a person is great. I just like good people, if your heart's in the right place. I'm definitely attracted to men. It's just people that I am attracted to."
2. He loves his wife
Brendon Urie also made sure to point out that he's "very much in love" with his wife Sarah Orzechowski. He falls for a person — not a specific gender. "I'm married to a woman and I'm very much in love with her but I'm not opposed to a man because to me, I like a person."
3. He's brought this up in the past
In 2013, shortly after Brendon and Sarah got married, he said, “I find myself being attracted to dudes all the time. I’m like, ‘Wow, that’s a beautiful man.’ There’s no shame in it. That’s how I feel. To stifle that would probably bring on stress and probably make somebody homophobic.”
4. Is his wife also pansexual?
Urie also told Between the Lines that he and his wife are both very open, "She’s attracted to girls, and I think some men are extremely attractive. I have no shame in it.”
5. It isn't a big deal
Brendon is very comfortable with the fact that he's attracted to both men and women. He told People, “It’s never been a weird thing. It doesn’t freak me out. Why does it matter who I’m f—ing? I’ve gotten so many amazing letters and tweets from fans saying, ‘I didn’t have the courage to tell my parents but I had you to fall back on.’ I want to create a support system...shed a light onto something that isn’t as big a deal as everyone’s making it out to be.”
6. They stand by each other
Sarah and Brendon are a united couple that stand by each other. Sarah has been targeted in the past by Brendon's fans. He stood by her and supported her when fans' comments turned nasty. Sarah has always supported Brendon when he's been plagued by rumors that he is gay.
