Growing up as a Duggar is certainly no easy feat. Aside from having 18 siblings and being a devout Christian, there’s also the pressure to be courted or court, get married, and have children as soon as possible. But for 28-year-old Jana Duggar, that hasn’t happened yet. And as the firstborn girl in the family, she’s feeling the heat from her family.
But what’s the real reason why she hasn’t lived up to her family’s expectations for her? Is Jana Duggar gay?
That’s what fans are starting to wonder, questioning if her choice to not go through the courting process like her other brothers and sisters has anything to do with her sexuality. They have dubbed her the “Cinderella” of the Duggars, as her desire to not follow in her younger sisters’ footsteps is practically unheard of.
Many of the older siblings in the family are married with children, expecting children, or are in the courtship phase. Eldest brother Josh has five children with his wife; Jill and Jessa are both married with two kids each, Jinger is married with a baby on the way, Joseph and Joy-Anna recently got married and each had a child, and her twin brother, John David, recently announced his courtship. It’s no wonder her family is probably pressuring her to move forward.
But is her lack of desire to get married due to her sexuality — or something else? According to a source, she doesn’t want to be like her younger sisters, married at a young age with the possibility of having a husband she doesn’t get along with.
“Jana doesn’t want to be like a lot of others that just go out and get married and end up in a relationship that's negative. She's content with whatever the Lord wants for her,” the source said.
Who could blame her? Apparently, Jim Bob and Michelle have a list of rules their daughters must abide by, including wearing modest clothing so they don’t seduce men (yoga pants is on the list), and being banned from befriending any women who have had children out of wedlock. Jana may be following her intuition and instincts, but her family isn’t too happy about her choice to be single. Dad Jim Bob doesn’t approve and made that perfectly clear when he made a joke at Jana’s expense at her own birthday party!
As for the rumorsshe’s gay, a source has said that she’s not homosexual; she just doesn’t want to rush into love. Marriage is forever, right? At least in this family. “She does not want to be courted quickly. She wants to be patient and wait on God,” the source revealed.
