New Details On Teairra Mari's Sex Tape And Instagram Hack

Teairra Mari is a singer-songwriter, actress, and model who was signed to Jay-Z's Def Jam label when she was just sixteen years old. The musician's career was short lived, however, when record sales didn't reach what they needed to and she was dropped by the label.
She's best known for her appearance on VH1's hit reality show Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood after she made a few guest appearances on Love & Hip Hop: New York. She recently made headlines again when a video was uploaded to Mari's Instagram of her performing a sex act. Graphic images followed shortly after but were taken down fairly quickly.

1. She released a statement about the sex tape leak.
She took to social media to proclaim that she's not going to stand for this act of revenge porn. "Recently, my social media was compromised by someone who I felt was deserving of my love and trust," she wrote. "I recognize the need to be more cautious and discerning. My hope is for women to remain strong and dignified when they find themselves having to address hateful and juvenile acts by former lovers who find it difficult to act in an adult manner. Revenge Porn is a crime in California and I will be in pursuit of justice."
If convicted of revenge porn, a perpetrator can spend up to six months in jail by California law.
2. Some people speculate she leaked the video herself.
Despite her message about bringing the person who hacked her Instagram to justice, fans speculated that this sex tape 'leap' may have been done just for publicity to get a better storyline on her upcoming season of Love & Hip Hop. The timing is suspect; the show begins shooting in a few days and it hasn't been clear if Mari was set to be in the new season. There was also video released of Tearria talking to her current boyfriend about the leak, in which she seems fairly unplussed about the whole thing.
3. She thanked her co-star for having her back.
She posted a photo of Milan Christopher on Instagram with the caption, "The fact that this is the only person that stood up for me! Thank you for having my back- I really love u @milanchristopher! and Gianni @gmoney_cmb thank you for having my back (through the good and the bad.) #ThisTooShallPass"
4. Teairra's ex who allegedly leaked the video is Akbar Abdul Ahad.
Teairra claims Ahad leaked the and hacked into her Instagram without her permission. He has not commented publicly on these claims yet and turned his Instagram comments.
5. Other celebs have reacted to the tape.
Rapper 50 Cent was censored by Instagram for his comments and the image he posted which is now deleted. He commented on another post, "I'm leaving IG, I'm going back to Twitter. They take shit down off my page without notifying me. #censorthesenuts"
6. She's had rocky relationships in the past.
Mari's been betrayed before. Her ex Cisco cheated on her with Amber Diamond, a scandal that was documented on Love & Hip Hop. She also dated Ray-J and the two had relationship drama of their own including a sex tape that apparently exists on her laptop. She has said about her relationship with Ray J, "I do feel like he needs professional help and so do I.”
7. She posted a video on her Instagram page about the sex tape scandal.
In the video, Mari thanked fans for their support and for coming to her defense. She says that she was in love up until she realized she was on the wrong end of the stick and that the betrayal was a shock to her system.
