But back in November, the singer fell outside of her home, suffering multiple injuries, including a broken wrist that required surgery, and abrasions on her body and face. She also needed 40 stitches in her face. After her accident, Underwood stayed out of the public eye to focus on her recovery.

On April 15th, she made her first public appearance at the ACM awards, months after her nasty fall. But it isn’t until now that we’ve been given a clear closeup Carrie Underwood face photo of her scar.

Underwood posted the photo to Instagram to support her husband, Mike Fisher, and his hockey team, the Nashville Predators. In the photo, her scars around her upper lip and chin are visible.

Underwood also shared a video over the weekend of her being silly with her husband. Fisher was making high-pitched noises with his hand, cutely annoying the singer.

During an appearance on The Bobby Bones Show, Underwood talked candidly about her accident, its impact, and her recovery process. Though she hadn’t posted much on social media since her fall, she claims she wasn’t hiding purposely.

“I mean, I don’t think I hide. There’s always stuff to do, even if it’s not necessarily playing shows. But, I don’t know. I’m kind of a homebody. “I was lucky that when it happened everything was shutting down in the music world — we had the holidays.”

Even though she's focusing on her health and recovery, it was important for Underwood to get back out in public, despite the challenges of her injuries.

“I started resuming my life again, and going to the grocery store, and taking my kid to school and stuff like that, I was like, ‘Okay. Somebody’s going to creep on me at the grocery store and people are going to be like, ‘What happened?’ when they post it on Instagram.’”

Since her accident in November, it’s clear the singer has moved forward and is focusing on her passion to make music, raise her family, and be a loving wife.

“I don’t know if I’ll ever be done talking about it because it was an event in my life,” she said. “And, I mean, I’m okay talking about it!”

Welp. At least she cries pretty — scar and all.
