Would you describe yourself as someone who has traditional values? And if you are one of the traditional zodiac signs, does astrology have something to do with it?

Being traditional isn’t a bad thing, no matter what your horoscope says otherwise. It doesn't mean that you’re boring, rigid, or uncool; it just means that you’re someone who tends to follow the social norms. You embrace traditions that have been handed down throughout the ages.

It’s not that you’re necessarily a follower. You make up your own mind about what you take from more traditional schools of thought, as well as what you don’t. There are certain qualities associated with being traditional such as faithfulness, devotion, loyalty, and patience. You respect and listen to those older and wiser than you.

Following traditions can be a beautiful thing as you feel connected to generations past and it feels as if you have a solid foundation under your feet. You are grounded and tend not to take huge risks, especially those that have the potential to cause you or the people you love, harm.

1. CAPRICORN (December 22 - January 19)

Capricorns often need to have a plan, and being traditional helps with that. Some Capricorns are very conservative, both in their beliefs and their finances. They tend to follow the tried and true methods, while other Capricorns make up their own traditions.

Whether a tradition is old or new, it's the adherence to it that really matters. The concept of family is very traditional, though a Capricorn might have a new kind of family dynamic. Traditional doesn't have to mean old-fashioned, it just has to be something that has meaning to you and that you share with others.

2. CANCER (June 21 - July 22)

Cancers are traditional in the way that they're faithful. Their church may be unconventional, but they do something that makes them feel connected to the Universe and people. Music or nature may be their religion of choice, or they may believe in a traditional religion — whatever their beliefs are, they follow and trust that these ideals will guide them.

Cancers are generally creative, but they're not usually completely out there with their ideas. In a way, having the safety of boundaries encourages them to expand them. Cancers are all about love, and in a way loving each other is a long-held tradition.

3. TAURUS (April 20 - May 20)

Taurus tend to believe that if you work hard, you will be rewarded and that's pretty traditional thinking. They have a very clear idea of what their life should look like and they take steps to realize their goals and ambitions. They tend to be cautious with their spending but do allow an occasional treat or indulgence.

Family is also very important to Taurus as is having a strong set of values. They believe what they believe and it's often extremely difficult to change their beliefs. Taurus like to hold onto their traditions and they enjoy experiencing other people's traditions as well.

4. VIRGO (August 23 - September 22)

Virgos find comfort in the traditional, but that's not to say that they follow their traditions to the letter. A Virgo is going to question, research, and look at all the angles of a belief before they decide to adhere to it. While some Virgos may tend to be somewhat conservative, that's definitely not always the case.

A Virgo is not going to follow along blindly. If they believe in something, you can bet that it took a long time for them to accept it as truth. Some of Virgo's traditions and beliefs may seem odd to those who don't know them, but they're part of what makes this zodiac sign so fascinating.

5. LEO (July 23 - August 22)

Leos tend to be leaders, not followers, especially when it comes to being traditional. Traditions that have been handed down to them through the years are usually embraced. They need to feel a connection to their family and their community.

If they're a member of a church, they probably do something more than just attend services as they're loyal, kind, and helpful. If a Leo is in conversation with someone who doesn't share their values, they will be genuinely interested in hearing what the other has to say. They may not change their mind about what they believe, but they're certainly willing to hear differing opinions.
