How trustworthy are you?

No one wants to be considered a flaky person, but it's hard not fall into the unreliable box when you let down a friend and canceled plans to go out at the last minute.
Making plans isn't exactly a broken promise, but if you don't follow through, for one reason or another, that's by definition flaky.
People like it when friends are loyal, dependable, and keep their promises.
Can astrology predict what type of person may be more flakier than another? Is there really any truth to bulls being more dependable than a Gemini or that a Sagittarius with F.O.M.O issues will break promises all that time?
As an Aquarius zodiac sign, I like to think that I can be depended on. I keep my promises as much as possible, but sometimes it's really hard for me to make a promise and want to keep it.
And I wish I could say that it's because I've been too busy helping my other friends, but in reality, it's usually just been because I'm way too lazy sometimes to get off my butt and do something else. (This is an Aquarian trait... we don't like to be selfish, but sometimes, we can't help ourselves.)
It's the same head talk for all zodiac signs no matter if you follow through or flake out: Yes, I know we haven't seen each other in a few months, and yes I know I promised to meet you for dinner so we could catch up.
Then, logic reminds you that there's a comfortable couch (that you've already gotten settled on) calling your name and a Netflix binge that you've already started and, gosh, you just don't think you'll be able to make it. I know, I know it sounds bad, but you can't help yourself sometimes. I've been there, too.
You don't have to explain yourself or why you flaked out in the past. You would just rather hang out and be lazy than get dressed and have to drive somewhere.
But when you make promises that are very important, like making sure you'll be there when say, your sister needs your help or if a friend needs extra support, then you are always there, right? Yep, me too.
You know how much it can suck to have someone flake on you — we all have been the flaker and the flake-ee — so, like me, you really do try to make your best judgment.
If it's a night out that can be reschedule any time, maybe you'll try not to feel too bad if the plans fall through, but if it's urgent or important to your friend, then it's important, and you're there.
Of course, I would also hope (like all of us would) that if something were really important to the person you're making a promise to that they wouldn't hesitate to call you out on your BS if you were to cancel your plans.
(I know I can be a flake sometimes, but I don't want my friends to be afraid to call me out if that's what I'm doing!)
One of the biggest pet peeves in life that we all share is miscommunication, and you'd hate for a friendship to fall apart because you never talked about how to be there for each other and what you needed from your friends and vice versa — (it's happened to me before and I'd be crushed if it happened again).
But even then, there are some zodiac signs who just have a flaky personality and simply can't seem to make promises and actually follow through with them.
Sure, they might be amazing friends, but when they're super flaky all the time, can you really ever trust them to be there for you when you need it?
It's a case of overcommitment and trying to do too much (It's okay, Pisces. You can say 'no' sometimes). A lot of water, fire and even some air zodiac signs who flake out only do it because they make too many promises only to realize later that they have to cancel on you.
Other zodiac signs make promises because they want to be your hero (Taurus). A promise makes them sound like a good person in the moment but the next thing you know, they are already making better plans with someone else.
Harsh, but it does happen.
And while no one wants to admit that they are a flaky person with a particular zodiac sign that everyone knows tends to lack in follow through, astrology doesn't lie, which means you can't escape the person you are, based on your horoscope.

LEO (July 23 - August 22)
Leo is fiercely protective of his friends. When you’re his friend, he is bound to hold you very close to his heart. And whether you need a shoulder to lean on or you just haven’t spent time together in a while, Leo is the type of person to call or text you to check up on you and make sure you’re doing okay.
Leo is the type of person to make sure that his loved ones know how much he cares. Leo is also incredibly loyal — if you haven’t figured that out yet. When he says he’s going to do something, he keeps his promise.
He wants to be the friend you can always count on, not the friend you can only somewhat count on. Breaking a promise to Leo is ones of the worst things he can do to someone he cares about deeply.
TAURUS (April 20 - May 20)
To Taurus, being reliable is one of the best traits someone can have, and he likes to think he has pretty good traits to begin with. He’s always been the kind of person you can call in the middle of the night when you want to talk and he likes when his friends and family know that they can always count on him to be there for them.
When Taurus makes a promise, he never breaks it — case closed. He’s all about following through with his promises and if he were to ever become someone you couldn’t trust, it would break his heart. Taurus loves supporting his loved ones, which means if you ask him to be there for you, he will always keep that promise.
CAPRICORN (December 22 - January 19)
Capricorn is incredibly loyal because that is just how he was brought up. Being such a family-oriented sign has made Capricorn believe in the value of always having your loved ones’ backs. When he cares about someone, he’s a very devoted person who would do just about anything for them — including proving that he can keep his promises.
Capricorn is also honest, which might not seem very relevant when it comes to following through with your promises, but to Capricorn, it is very important. He always tries to make sure that he never breaks a promise to you, but life is unpredictable and he gets busy.
Whenever he does have one of these days where he doesn’t have time to do anything else, he’s at least honest with you about it, rather than flaking like it doesn’t matter.
SCORPIO (October 23 - November 21)
Ask any Scorpio what the most important thing in life is and he’s sure to say something along the lines of being loyal. He not only wants to always be there for his friends and family, but he wants to make sure they know he can follow through on his promises, too.
Just saying he’s got their back doesn’t mean anything if he can’t prove it. But not only does Scorpio try to be as trustworthy as he possibly can, he’s also verrry protective of his friends and family.
It’s common for him to feel like the “dad friend” who’s always in the front row with his video camera making sure that you see that he’s always there for you. It’s cute, really. And when you have someone like Scorpio in your life, you know he always keeps his promises.
AQUARIUS (January 20 - February 18)
Aquarius would do just about anything for his friends, short of jumping off a cliff after them (remember when you parents always asked you that? He certainly does). But Aquarius also knows that life is worth living to the fullest and if all he ever does is live to please others, he’s not going to have much fun.
So, while Aquarius would bend over backward for you, he expects you to keep your promises to him, too. Whenever Aquarius does get caught up in his own responsibilities, he tries to always be a good communicator and let you know what’s going on.
But the one thing he absolutely hates is owning people. So, while he might have to bend (not break) his promises to you, one way or another he always follows through because to him, saying, “I owe you one” is just another way to say, “I’m flaking.”
VIRGO (August 23 - September 22)
Virgo is one of the most dedicated signs you’ll meet. He will follow through with every single promise he makes to you simply because he loves being invested in his friends’ lives. He also is a very helpful person who isn’t afraid to let himself feel good for being a good friend. And hey, when you’re Virgo, you can give yourself pats on the back for that!
One thing Virgo does have a problem with, though, is his ability to easily get overwhelmed. He’s the kind of person to make plans and promise you he’ll come through, but realize that he’s double- and triple-booked his whole week helping people.
And it’ll definitely pain him to tell you the truth when he does inevitably have to break a promise, but know that he’ll already be trying to figure out how to make it up to you.
CANCER (June 21 - July 22)
Cancer is also kind of like a dad friend who wants to be there for you no matter what. He's naturally a very nurturing sign who wants to take care of you and unconsciously let you know that he will always keep his promises to you.
One of his favorite qualities about himself is that he is one of the most emotionally caring signs, and when he keeps his promises to you, he's showing you that you deserve that care. Of course, one of Cancer's biggest flaws is being an uncommunicative sign.
So, while it's true that he will always nurture and care for you the best way he knows how, he doesn't actually know how to talk to you when something throws a wrench in his plans. And even though he isn't flaky at all, when he can't articulate why he has to break a promise, he tends to just not deal with it at all. NOT good.
LIBRA (September 23 - October 22)
As a rule, Libra always tries to be as sincere as possible, especially when it comes to matters with friends and family. Even if he can't always hang out with you or doesn't always have time to talk on the phone, he still wants you to know that he cares about you. And when the two of you are together, he makes sure to give you every ounce of his attention.
That said, when it comes to making promises, he's awful at making decisions; it's his one big flaw. He would rather not commit to anything in the moment because he doesn't know what the circumstances will be when it's time for him to follow through with his promises. To him, this makes him seem cautious, but to everyone else, it makes him seem flaky because he always acts like he's holding out for a better offer.
ARIES (March 21 - April 19)
Aries does care about his friends and family, but he cares about himself more — even if he won't admit it. He would rather worry about himself instead of making promises he can't (or won't) keep or breaking them and looking like a jerk in the process.
Aries is also much more impulsive in his everyday life than people realize. That means that even though he says he'll follow through with his promises, there's a good chance he's going to end up changing his mind at the last second. So, even though he doesn't want to seem like a flake, it almost always happens anyway.
GEMINI (May 21 - June 20)
Gemini was born to be flaky (no offense). His dual nature makes it hard for him not to be two-faced sometimes, whether he wants to be or not. He might tell you that he'll follow through with his promises, but if he's still holding a grudge from a few weeks ago when you two fought, he's only going to say that to hurt you later on. And maybe not as harsh, he sometimes will promise one thing and then decide something else takes precedence... it's a mess.
Gemini also gets very easily overwhelmed, which means that when he is trying to be a good friend to you, he might promise too many people too many things and not be able to keep up with them all once the time comes. This will inevitably lead to him having to flake on a few of his priorities, which he won't be too happy about.
PISCES (February 19 - March 20)
Pisces wants to be a good friend — and is for the most part — but there are times when he's just way too out of touch with his social life and priorities that you can't get him to do anything. He often says he wants to be there for you, but whether he's too caught up in his own worries or just can't muster up enough enthusiasm to care, he's a bigger flake than he likes to admit.
Pisces is also king at playing the self-pitying card. Yes, he wants to be there for you and yes, he always tries to follow through on his promises, but doesn't anyone realize how much he has on his plate, too?! All anyone ever does is ask for his help and it's too much, man. Whenever he gets like this, it's just easier to let him pout and flake.
SAGITTARIUS (November 22 - December 21)
Sagittarius, by definition, is flaky. He's always got his own thing going on and dealing with your stuff is almost NEVER a priority for him. He'd rather take things one day at a time and if something better comes along, then he's most definitely going to do that first, sorry!
And the worst thing about it all is that confronting him will only give him a reason to make an excuse and tell you what you want to hear — usually an apology.
Sagittarius is also very non-committal. He'd probably be rather known as flaky from time to time than be someone who always promises everyone everything, just for him to have to go back and cancel on you later anyway. To him, it's just his way of saying he likes to keep his options open, but to everyone else, it screams, "flakyyyy."
