Ask any true Kardashian fan: Kourtney Kardashian is likely the most normal and relatable out of her equally famous sisters. The eldest Kardashian sibling, she has 3 beautiful kids (Mason 8, Penelope 5, Reign 3) that she co-parents with ex-boyfriend Scott Disick.
After a very rocky on-and-off relationship for almost 10 years, Kardashian and Disick called it quits in 2015. Kardashian maintained a quiet dating life for a while until she met model and former boxer Younes Bendjima.
The two have been dating since 2016, and have quite the exciting love life. From Paris to New York and back to Los Angeles, the cute couple have traveled all over the world together, and snap plenty of romantic photos along the way.
While everything seems picture perfect, every relationship has its quirks — and this one has several. Here are the most interesting details about Kourtney Kardashian and Younes Bendjima's relationship.
1. They were first introduced right before Kim Kardashian West was held at gunpoint.
Kardashian revealed on an episode of Keeping up with the Kardashians (KUWTK) that she was introduced to Younes in October 2016 during Paris Fashion Week where she was visiting with her sister Kim Kardashian West. Kardashian said she was at a nightclub with Kim's assistant Stephanie Sheppard when she first spotted Younes. According to People, Kardashian admitted that at first, Bendjima kept his distance.
“He would walk in, say hi, shake hands with like, our security or whatever, but not say hi to us,” she said. “And then I was like, ‘Why do you hate us?’ I was just drunk. Once I said that he literally like grabbed my hand and was like, ‘It’s 5 in the morning. We’re leaving,’” she said.
However, that same evening is the night when West was robbed at gunpoint by masked men who stole millions of dollars worth of jewelry from her. Bendjima, who is Algerian, speaks fluent French and acted as a translator after West's terrifying attack. “He was like, ‘I’m not leaving you guys,’” Kardashian told her sister Khloe. “He had to translate everything.”
2. They have a 14 year age difference.
Age isn't anything but a number to Kardashian who at 38 years old has no problem dating Bendjima, who is only 24 years old. With 14 years of age between them, it certainly hasn't stopped them from having a good time, and in fact has brought out a very fun side of Kourtney.
The couple have gone to basketball games, water skiing, and even Disneyland in Paris. No matter what the adventure is, these two are always up for the challenge.
3. Bendjima previously dated Victoria's Secret model Jourdan Dunn.
According to the Daily Mail, Bendjima and Dunn first met at the 2015 Met Gala and reportedly dated for several months before breaking up due to different schedules.
"Younes had a great time with Jourdan," the Daily Mail's source revealed, "but their busy schedules became too much and they decided to call it quits," adding that Bendjima "told friends that he was the one who ended it."
However it's also reported that a week after Bendjima called it quits with Dunn, he started quietly dating Kardashian.
4. Kardashian and Justin Bieber dating rumors pre-dated their relationship.
Following her split from Disick, rumors began to spread like wildfire that Kardashian was dating pop superstar Justin Bieber after they were seen out together multiple times including dinners, nightclubs, karaoke bars, and church.
Then Bieber posted this Instagram photo of himself cozying up to a mystery woman many believed to be Kardashian after reading Bieber's caption which said, "Lord knows" which many fans speculated was a reference to Kardashian's ex Disick who has referred to himself as "Lord Disick" on KUWTK.
However, it was later revealed the mystery girl in this photo was not Kourtney, but an L.A. based model named Jasmine Villanueva, as reported by Hello Magazine. Rumors of Kardashian and Bieber simmered down once the singer confirmed his new relationship with model and good friend Hailey Baldwin.
5. Scott Disick's girlfriend Sofia Richie was close friends with Bendjima.
Disick has been dating model and Lionel Richie's daughter Sofia Richie, who just so happens to have been very close to Kourtney's new beau and a long time family friend of the Kardashians. Richie and Bendjima hung out regularly even after he started dating Kardashian. But when the 19-year-old Richie started hooking up with 34-year-old Disick, she was shunned by the entire family — including Bendjima.
According to a source for US Weekly, "They’re not really speaking anymore,” adding that the former friends also unfollowed each other on social media.
6. Kardashian taunted Disick with a pregnancy scare.
If it seems like this is the year of Kardashian pregnancies, that's because it is. Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner both added to the family in early 2018, with Khloe not far behind. And in February 2018, Kourtney had a pregnancy scare of her own.
According to Hollywood Life, Kardashian and Bendjima thought they were pregnant, which goes against Bendjima's strict family's beliefs as they're not (yet) married. Once the two realized they weren't actually pregnant, the source told Hollywood Life that Kardashian took the scare as an opportunity to taunt her ex Disick. "He completely lost it," said the insider. "Kourtney enjoyed torturing Scott with the news for a few days, letting him freak out about the news before letting him off the hook with the information that it was all a false alarm.”
7. Kardashian wants to freeze her eggs.
The mother of 3 recently revealed to her sisters Kim and Khloe on KUWTK that while she wants to freeze her eggs, she's feeling conflicted.
"I should just do it so I don't have to think: 'Is this what I want, to have kids?' It's like, putting too much pressure", Kardashian expressed to her sisters. And while she hasn't been with Bendjima very long, sources say that things are headed in a more serious direction.
Sources told Daily Mail that "no one thought their relationship would last this long, but Kourtney is very happy. Younes has met her kids, Kourtney's family really likes him."
However you feel about them, Kardashian and Bendjima are a stunning couple and are just trying to live their lives to the fullest, and seem to have a lot of fun together. After Kardashian's toxic relationship with Disick, we hope she has found happiness and that she makes it last with Bendjima. We also wouldn't mind her getting pregnant again because she makes beautiful babies!
