3 Unusual Sex Toys For A Whole New 'Twist' On Nipple Orgasms

By Domina Doll

Did you know that women can orgasm just from having their nipples stimulated? Yes, it’s true! Nipple-gasms are a real thing, which is awesome for nipple lovers and women who have sensitive areolas.

Surprisingly, this is because nipple stimulation activates the same area of the brain as clitoral, cervical and vaginal stimulation.

According to an article in The Journal of Sexual Medicine, Volume 8, 2011:

“The researchers discovered that stimulation of the nipple activated an area of the brain known as the genital sensory cortex. This is the same brain region activated by stimulation of the clitoris, vagina and cervix. What this means is that women’s brains seem to process nipple and genital stimulation in the same way. In light of this, it is not at all surprising that many women are aroused by having their nipples touched and that, for some, this may be enough to lead to orgasm.”

To celebrate "nipple-gasms", I’m going to share with you my top 3 favorite sex toys for nipple play, along with some info about how to use them.

1. Nipple clamps.

There are several different types of nipple clamps on the market.

  • Tweezer Clamps

Also called Pincer Clamps, these are the cheapest version you'll find, and usually the most popular with novices who haven’t used nipple clamps before. They're shaped like tweezers, as their name suggests, and are long and thin with an adjustable tension ring that you slide closer to the end to tighten around the nipples.

This type of clamp may be a bit confusing to use at first, as some people try to place the nipples between the pincher ends, rather than in the wider space where the nipples are actually supposed to go. Don’t do this, as it can be very painful. These types of clamps are also a bit finicky to put on and adjust if you are a bit clumsy or have larger fingers.

I don’t recommend these for beginners even though they are cheaper because they are the most difficult to use, and if you are not careful, you can slide the rings too tight and pinch the skin of the nipples in them, which really hurts. This defeats the purpose of nipple play, as it is supposed to feel good (OK, maybe hurt a little), and you are supposed to pinch the whole nipple and areola, not the skin (because OUCH!).

  • Japanese Clover Clamps

These clamps are definitely NOT for beginners but are quite popular in the S&M scene for pain play. These clamps have an elaborate mechanism of arms that look like little vice grips and tighten slowly around the nipple with weight or light tugging adding increased pressure. They are larger and heavier than ordinary nipple clamps, and therefore tighten around the nipples just from their own weight.

The pressure they apply ranges from strong to extreme, which is why I’d only recommend these for serious pain sluts. Clover clamps feature gripper pads which help them stay fixed to the nipples. Luckily, they unclamp easily by just pressing the two sides of the clamps to release.

  • Bull Nose Clamps

AKA Alligator Clamps, these fall in the middle price range between the other two clamps. To use another tool analogy, these are more like adjustable pliers that feature a screw with which you can fine-tune the pressure of the clamps to get the perfect amount of tension between pleasure and pain.

These are my favorite type of nipple clamps because you have control over how much pressure you apply, so can take them to the edge. They are also easy to use, which is why I would recommend them if you are just starting out with nipple play toys.

2. Nipple Suckers

Nipple Suckers are another great nipple play toy and they come in a large variety to types from snake bite kits to advanced suction devices.

The Twisted Triplets Nipple and Clit Suckers by XR Brands, for example, are a bit more expensive than some of the lower end nipple sucker toys, but they are super powerful and they work (i.e., they won’t fall off while being used).

They are basically clear, plastic cylinders with easy-to-use, screw applied suction.

Simply position the cup around your areola, turn the screw at the top to increase the amount of suction to your desired amount, and then watch as your nipples expand and elongate through the clear plastic. You can also apply lube to create a better suction barrier around the nipple. Even cooler, these suckers come in a set of three, which means there is one for your clitoris too!

3. The Satisfyer Pro Penguin

You may not think of a vibrator right away when it comes to nipple play, but clitoral suction vibes are PERFECT for nipple play for obvious reasons.

This particular version is called a clitoral stimulator because it pulsates and suctions around the clitoris without ever making direct contact — and it does the same for nipples and areolas! It's become known as the "one-minute orgasm vibe" because the suction is quite powerful and the tingling pulsing stimulation it provides is out of this world thrilling.

If you decide to give one a try, you simply place the soft, rounded head around your nipple and let the toy pleasure you with its suction. Voila!
