Melania Trump Never Shares A Bed With Donald, Sources Tell 'Us Weekly'

Melania Trump primarily remained in the background during President Donald Trump's campaign and now presidency. Rumors have been circulating from the beginning that her absence from the spotlight indicates her unhappiness with her marriage and the position her husband thrust her into.

It's hard for me to feel sorry for a woman who lives in a three-story penthouse and poses eating diamonds as though they were spaghetti ... However, she is a human being with her own thoughts and feelings and wants and needs.

According to Us Weekly, family friend Philip Bloch spoke to the magazine and said, "This life wasn’t her dream. It was Donald’s … Truthfully, it’s a lot to cope with.”

Another source in the same article says, “Melania is unhappy with how her life ended up … She is miserable.”

And as Business Insider reports, "A new book by CNN correspondent Kate Bennett confirms long-standing rumors that the first lady doesn't only have her own room, but occupies an entirely separate floor of the White House from her husband."

Don't get me wrong, if I had the means, I'd probably sleep in a separate bed than my husband, too, because as much as I love him, there's nothing quite like falling into a huge bed that's all your own.

But I think it's unlikely that my reasons match Melania's.

When this news first broke, Melania Trump was still living in New York City with the son she shares with the President, Barron (who is currently 13 and will turn 14 on March 20, 2020), while he finished up the school year. So sleeping in separate beds seemed glaringly obvious at the time.

But apparently, even when the First Lady is with her husband, they still remain in separate rooms (and on separate floors of the White House, as noted above).

When another source close to the Trump family spoke to Us Weekly, they confirmed, “They have separate bedrooms. … They never spend the night together — ever.” Another source said that when they are together on the rare occasion, they do sleep in the same room but have separate beds.

Is it really that unusual for married couples to sleep in separate bedrooms?

According to a study conducted in 2013 at Toronto’s Ryerson University, 30% to 40% of couples sleep in separate beds!

That is alarmingly high, at least in my mind. I always assumed I was the only one dreaming of my very own sleep number bed in my very own room decorated with purple and unicorns.

So does this mean Melania and Donald are headed for divorce?

No, not necessarily.

But if the sources are accurate, it could indicate that Melania is unhappy with the current state of her marriage. And for that, regardless of her eating diamonds with a fork, I do feel sorry for her.

We can only hope that Melania and Barron are happy and healthy and do what they both need to do in order to remain that way.
