Women With High Emotional Intelligence But Zero Common Sense Say 7 Phrases Almost Daily
guys_who_shoot | Shutterstock Some women with high emotional intelligence can let their feelings get in the way of basic common sense. Their decisions are driven by emotions, which show up in their daily speaking habits.
Emotional intelligence and mental intelligence are closely related, but not the same thing. Some people know exactly what to say when you need help with a really complex and difficult emotional situation. They’re the best ones to get advice from when someone’s feeling down, but not always when someone needs practical help.
Phrases women with high emotional intelligence and no common sense say regularly:
1. 'How do you do this?'

Women with high emotional intelligence but who struggle with practical knowledge find basic tasks become much more complicated. They might not know how to cook or make repairs around their house. They're too focused on their emotions and the emotions of the people they interact with.
They’ll help their friends when they’re emotionally struggling, but they’ll seem clueless when tasked with decisions based solely on logic.
2. 'You should go to therapy'
Some people are really averse to going to therapy. They might feel embarrassed or think it won't actually help them. They’ll go to their friends for help instead.
Women with high emotional intelligence know that their friends’ advice can’t replace therapy. Therapists are trained professionals who almost always know the right way to respond. Their entire education is about understanding people on a deeper level, and it allows them to truly know how to help someone.
These women will frequently advise friends and family that therapy is a good option even if their personal issues are minor. That's because they understand that talking it out with someone who knows them is limiting. People are much more comfortable being open and honest with a professional who they don't interact with regularly.
3. 'There’s no right answer'
When it comes to how someone is feeling, there isn’t a right or wrong answer. No one can be wrong about their emotions. If that’s how they feel, you can’t just tell them that’s not how they should feel. That won’t change anything. However, that doesn’t always apply to life.
In a practical sense, there are right answers, however. Two plus two equals four. That's definite. That more linear way of thinking doesn't work well with highly empathetic women, though. They want to dig deeper, and that means that sometimes what is obviously right in front of them gets muddled, making easy tasks and choices much more complex.
4. 'I’m not sure which way to go'

When you live in the same place for a long time, it becomes common sense to know where to go. You routinely pass the same street signs and landmarks that help you navigate your neighborhood without needing directions. Highly empathetic women don’t always pay attention to where they’re going, though.
A good sense of direction takes black-and-white thinking. North is North. For women who have high emotional intelligence, that's too pragmatic. They think it’s more about the journey than the destination. They often get lost exploring something new that excites them. They don’t memorize how to get around because they probably never go the same way.
5. 'All you need is love'
Emotionally intelligent women believe in the power of emotions, especially love. People with common sense know that isn’t always true.
The famous psychologist Abraham Maslow places love and belonging on the third level of his hierarchy of needs. Through his research, he discovered that our basic physical needs, like food, water, and shelter, and safety concerns are way more important. People with common sense don’t need to research that to understand it. They know there are a lot more things to consider than love when it comes to survival.
Love is a luxury that only people who have their physical needs met and a sense of security can afford. Still, women with high emotional intelligence might simply assume that those needs are always met and love and caring are more fundamental to survival.
6. 'Let's go shopping'

Retail therapy has been shown to make people happier. Still, that rush of dopamine people get from buying something new doesn’t last. It’ll usually make them even unhappier in the end.
Women who are more driven by emotional intelligence are comfortable prioritizing activities that make them feel good. They don’t want to get stuck in a negative mindset because they know it can worsen their quality of life.
These women aren't considering that the immediate happiness is fleeting. They’ll end up spending too much money on something that will hurt them in the future. They’ll probably end up getting stressed about their financial situation and feel even more unhappy.
7.'Let’s all just say how we’re feeling'
People with no common sense tend to say, "Let’s all talk about how we’re feeling," when there’s an issue between friends. Sometimes when people are in a fight, they don’t want to talk about how they’re feeling. If they’re really mad at each other, they might just get into an even bigger fight with the person if they try to talk it out.
There’s the idea that you should never go to bed angry, which people with a high emotional intelligence probably agree with. They know the effect unresolved disagreements can have on a relationship, and they don’t want that to happen.
Still, people with common sense can understand that some issues can’t always be resolved quickly in certain circumstances. Sometimes, it’s better to step away and take a moment to calm down before talking things out.
