People Who Get Sillier & More Playful As They Get Older Usually Start Avoiding 8 Types Of People

For some, that means becoming sillier and more playful than they were when they were younger. As they start enjoying what they see as the best time of their lives, they are careful to avoid spending time with certain types of people they know will only bring them down.
People who get even sillier and more playful as they get older often avoid these types of people
1. People who think the way they enjoy life is embarrassing

Some people find a way to never have fun themselves and put a damper on everyone else’s fun, too. When they see someone singing along to their favorite song or laughing uncontrollably, they roll their eyes instead of finding their joy contagious.
Anyone who’s leaning into their silly side obviously wouldn’t want to be around that kind of person. They make them feel embarrassed for getting excited, so they can never be themselves around them.
2. People who get offended at the drop of a hat
Someone who doesn’t know how to take a joke and thinks pretty much everything is offensive isn’t going to get along with someone who’s becoming more playful. They’re always going to be bothered by their goofy personality instead of appreciating them for who they are.
It seems like some people are always offended now because no one can disagree civilly anymore. This usually comes from their own insecurities, and not others actually trying to push their buttons. That’s definitely not someone who’s fun to be around.
3. People who always need drama
The drama queens and kings of the world are not who silly people want to spend their time with. It’s hard to have fun when you’re surrounded by people who are always looking for the next scandal they can get involved in.
Because these people love how it feels to be in the middle of some kind of conflict, they’re always seeking it out. That’s their version of fun, but it’s definitely not a playful version. People who are more lighthearted don’t want to feel like they’re constantly being dragged down by someone’s cousin’s best friend’s breakup.

There’s nothing wrong with people who tend to be more serious because it feels natural for them. It doesn’t create the best environment for goofing off, though.
Having a lot of worries can also give someone a more serious perspective, and that’s not a trait that people who want to have fun are hoping to pick up. They’re fine with other people thinking about paying bills and networking while they enjoy themselves as long as they don’t mix too much.
5. People who drain their energy
Everyone has had the unfortunate experience of spending time with someone who talks about their never-ending list of problems that they could probably solve on their own. By the time they’re gone, you’re way too tired to even process what happened.
Those are the kind of people who drain the energy from anyone around them. They need support just like everyone else, but playful people aren’t the best ones to offer it. They wouldn’t be able to maintain their fun-loving spirit if they did.
6. People who can’t stop complaining
Many people really do feel better when they vent about the things that are bothering them. It’s easy to take that too far and develop a super negative attitude that drags others down, though.
When someone is trying to have more fun as they age, they’re going to become more positive themselves, and they’re going to want people in their life who match that energy. Complainers feel toxic to them and keep them from living their best life.
7. People who think they’re better than everyone else
There are a lot of people who fall into this category, like anyone who responds to a friend’s cool story by trying to upstage them, or those who are always reminding everyone of how much smarter they are.
If someone is on that spectrum, they aren’t the kind of person that fun people want to hang out with. People who make themselves look superior are usually doing it to cover up their insecurities, so they’ve got a lot of emotional baggage that’s going to make it hard to freely enjoy life.
8. People who make everyone self-conscious

Being silly and playful really comes down to being yourself no matter what. No one can do that if they feel like the people in their life are always judging them, though. That lack of acceptance will make them doubt themselves and feel self-conscious.
The truth is that there will always be people who look at fun-loving older people and think they’re being way too immature. If they really want to have fun, they need friends who don’t share that mindset. Being around someone who’s always critical is super draining, and they know they’ve reached a point where they’re no longer interested in that kind of pettiness.
