Are YG and Kehlani dating? Just a few weeks after they welcomed babies with other people, they began hooking up with each other. Soon thereafter, they became the hottest couple in hip hop — but now, reports suggest that they may no longer be together. Of course, the question remains if they were ever together in the first place.

Currently signed to Young Jeezy's imprint label, YG's biggest hit came not long ago, with the release of 2018's "Big Bank" single. And though he's earned quite a bit of a following — and a bit of drama — in the hip hop world, success in the mainstream world has, for the most part, eluded him. Kehlani, for her part, enjoyed a bit of mainstream success as a member of the girl group Poplyfe, and her solo career is enjoyed by fans of R&B all over the world.

So, let's look at what we know about the timeline of YG and Kehlani's dating relationship.

1. Are YG and Kehlani dating? They were spotted holding hands at a Grammy after-party.

The on-again, off-again pair were snapped holding hands at a Grammys after-party on January 26, 2020. Even though they didn't walk the red carpet together, eagle-eyed fans noted that they were hand-in-hand outside the Universal Music Group's Grammy after-party.

YG, who performed at the Grammys as part of the tribute to the late Nipsey Hussle, seemed to fly solo at the actual event.

2. The pair first got together during New York Fashion Week in September 2019.

New York Fashion Week isn't just an excuse for people to check out the latest fashions — it's a chance for celebrities to hook up with one another. And that's exactly what happened with YG and Kehlani, who went public with their romance in an Instagram post that has since been deleted.

"Cat's out of the bag," Kehlani wrote at the time while posting a picture of her snuggled up to her rapper boo.

3. Kehlani also confirmed she was dating YG in a video.

While standing outside the Kith fashion show during New York Fashion Week, Kehlani and YG were accosted and asked if they were seeing one another. After answering in the affirmative, the blogosphere lit up like wildfire, and soon, everyone, everywhere, knew that the duo were hip hop's hottest new couple.

4. But they were fresh out of relationships with other people.

Kehlani and YG got together at a time that, at best, could be described as tumultuous for both of them. In March 2019, Kehlani welcomed a baby girl with her former partner, the singer Javaughn. Meanwhile, shortly before he and Kehlani got together, YG welcomed his second child with his baby mama, Catelyn Sparks. Seems like it didn't take long for them to rebound!

5. In December 2019, Kehlani broke up with YG after she realized he was cheating.

In a tweet that was since deleted, Kehlani said that she was "single and focused" and no longer with YG, because he was cheating on her. She also said, interestingly, that she and the rapper were never together — they were only recording a song for her album, and that nothing was going on between them.

6. But YG swore he never cheated on Kehlani.

At the time of their split, YG admitted that he and Kehlani were having problems. However, in a series of subsequent Instagram stories that have since been deleted, YG said that even though they were having problems, he never cheated on her.
