Who Is Kehlani's Baby Daddy? New Details On Javie Young-White
She gave birth this past weekend.
getty At just 23 years old, music artist Kehlani has skyrocketed to fame. Originally a member of the teen group Poplyfe, she has made a name for herself with her solo career. She released her first mixtape, Cloud 19, in 2014, her second mixtape, You Should Be Here, in 2015, and her debut album, SweetSexySavage in 2017. She was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2016 for Best Urban Contemporary Album.
But she has another title to add to her accomplishments: mom! The singer announced her pregnancy in October 2018.
In an official statement, she said, “If you know me, you know I’ve dreamt about motherhood since I was very young. When asked what my goals are, it’s always the idea of a big healthy happy family and whatever comes along is a plus. I am so honored to be given this gift by spirit, creator, and an amazing partner whom I trust with my body and life...
I knew sharing something so personal and precious could bring stress into my world but there isn’t a word anyone would say my way that could take away from this. Dearest little girl, I am so proud to be your mommy. I am so proud to have received you. I cannot wait to meet you, I know you will be 50,000 times more special than I can even imagine at this moment.”
This past weekend, Kehlani gave birth to daughter Adeya Nomi. She posted a sweet caption on her Instagram on a photo of a baby blanket:
“this weekend our angel arrived healthy & perfect in every way in our bathroom at home. unmedicated homebirth was the absolute hardest yet most powerful thing i’ve ever done. thankful beyond words. in love beyond comparison. refraining from posting to be family and rest, we just wanted to say thank you to everyone who sent well wishes, love, and support in all forms while waiting & working to bring Adeya earthside,” she wrote.
But who is Kehlani's baby daddy? Just a week after announcing her pregnancy, she revealed that the father of her child is her guitarist, Javie Young-White.
Young-White is the brother of Jaboukie Young-White, a stand-up comedian and correspondent for The Daily Show. And according to Kehlani herself, her baby daddy is bisexual, just like her.
In an October 11th interview on Nicki Minaj’s Queen Radio podcast, Kehlani revealed that she and her beau have a lot in common in terms of sexuality.
“I started dating women before I ever dated men. Then I was lucky to find a partner who was a bisexual male. And he really understands my queerness and my fluidity, and I really understand his. It’s very awesome to be understood,” she said.
In an absolutely sweet tearjerker post, Young-White called the birth of his daughter the “most beautiful moment of my life.”
