It looks like there are some regrets, or should I say #ragrets, over here! America’s sweetheart, Chase McNary recently confessed that he wasn’t too happy about his portrayals on MTV’s Ex on The Beach and The Challenge, both of which have amassed unrelenting fandoms. Unlike his cohorts in The Bachelor Nation, the reality star willingly ventured into uncharted territory to become an MTV star, joining the network that’s unarguably gaudier than ABC. Sadly for him, the risk didn’t pay off.

If you’re lost, we get it — it’s difficult to keep up with all the eligible suitors in Bachelor Nation. Who’s Chase McNary, you ask? Read more for everything you need to know.

1. McNary made his TV debut on Jojo Fletcher’s season of The Bachelorette.

The nation fell in love with former medical sales representative, Chase McNary throughout season 12 of The Bachelorette; however, his good looks and charm weren’t enough to win Fletcher’s heart, and the ill-fated relationship had him eliminated during week nine.

2. More recently, he was on MTV’s Ex on the Beach and The Challenge; and let’s just say, he isn’t exactly a fan.

McNary, who was initially enticed by the financial promise from MTV, is now singing a different tune tainted with regret. In a recent interview with US Weekly, he divulges his feelings about how the network misrepresented him as a person, which crushed his spirits for awhile. McNary further revealed his experience in The Know, stating: “I made a split-second decision to jump over to MTV to try a new market, try a new production company and network. Going into it, I really didn’t know what I was expecting, didn’t know how it was going to go.” He then compared Ex on the Beach to The Bachelorette, adding “It’s definitely more dramatic. When you get coeds living in the house with real live relationships and exes coming in, that’s where actual drama and emotions come in. You’re always with your ex or someone else’s exes. There was never an easy moment.”

3. He made a brief appearance in the most recent season of Bachelor in Paradise.

Not too long ago, McNary was lauded for his return to the Bachelor franchise, joining the season six cast (and their chaos) of Bachelor in Paradise. Sadly, his time was short-lived and alas, after his fleeting relationship with Angela Amezcua, he left the beach as a single bachelor yet again.

4...and he isn’t ruling out a comeback!

According to US Weekly, McNary would return much more prepared for the impending shenanigans; he credits this particular learning to fellow Bachelor star, Blake Horstmann and his laundry list of failed relationships on and off camera. Nonetheless, he’s neither pining nor vying for a Bach-Nation girl any time soon.

5. For now, his primary focus is Revel Social, his bar and restaurant in Denver.

With Revel Social, the acclaimed Gastropub dedicated to delivering an Instagrammable experience, he plans to open a second location in Austin, Texas before 2020. The self-proclaimed entrepreneur hopes to expand the premise and garner greater success, all while tapping into a new and promising market.

6. What’s next for McNary?

It’s clear that McNary is postponing his reality TV career to amplify his business ventures, a smart move for the media star who embodies brains and charisma. With his sponsorships and partnerships alone, McNary remains relevant and evergreen; and we haven’t even seen the latest with his nutrition line in the works. In all of his endeavors, we as fans will be along for the ride, wishing him nothing less than the best.
