1. She was asking Jay-Z a simple question.

According to the New York Daily News, the trouble started when Nicole Curran leaned over for about three minutes to talk to Jay-Z (real name: Shawn Carter). An eagle-eyed photographer caught Nicole mid-conversation, and that photo went viral — and got into the hands of the Beyhive.

After she’d gotten attacked, Nicole revealed that she was asking Jay-Z a simple question and couldn’t understand why she was getting so much hate from Beyoncé’s fandom.

“Curran told Shelburne that she had asked Beyoncé and JAY-Z what they wanted to drink, and that Beyoncé asked for a water. JAY-Z, meanwhile, requested a vodka soda, and Curran said she couldn’t hear well over the Oracle Arena crowd so she leaned over and asked if he wanted a lime,” reported the outlet.

2. Through her publicist, Beyoncé made clear that she does not agree with the extreme actions of the Beyhive.

Beyonce’s publicist, Yvette Noel-Schure, took to Instagram to personally issue a statement on behalf of her client, denouncing the extreme actions of the Beyhive.

“I am looking back today at the start of The OTRII tour, one year ago. It was a place of joy, unimaginable entertainment from two of the best performers in the world, and a place of love. Every single day on that tour I saw love. Which is why I also want to speak here to the beautiful BeyHiVE. I know your love runs deep but that love has to be given to every human. It will bring no joy to the person you love so much if you spew hate in her name. We love you,” she wrote.

According to People Magazine, Nicole’s attempt at being a good hostess ended with her getting death threats from the Beyhive, and her sports colleagues are speaking out publicl, against her being cyberbullied.

“Just spoke to Nicole Curran, the wife of Warriors owner Joe Lacob, about the “incident” with Beyoncé last night. She was in tears. Said she had been getting death threats on social media all night this morning she disabled her IG account just to make it stop,” said Ramona Shelburne, a reporter for ESPN, to the outlet.

4. Nicole isn’t taking the bullying lying down.

Nicole Curran, who is married to Golden State Warriors owner Joe Lacomb, isn’t going to take the bullying lying down. While she spoke out in anguish about the cyberbullying — marveling at the lengths to which the fandom went to prove their “love” for the “Irreplaceable” singer — she also wasn’t shy about taking to Instagram to shut the rumors down.

According to The Shade Room, she made clear that she was a “happily married woman” and that it was completely unnecessary to wish harm upon her simply because she was talking to Jay-Z to ask him for his drink order.

She also said that she “loved” Beyoncé and would never put her in a position to feel uncomfortable.
