Let's face it, many women have a terrible track record when it comes to choosing the right men to date. It's all about his sexy eyes, great cologne, and stylish shoes. Women go into dates with their eyes closed — like a horse wearing blinders.
But, ladies, you have an ace in the hole who actually knows what a "keeper" looks like? Your own personal "tell it like it is" Dr. Phil, if you will... but with a tail (and cheaper)? I'm talking about your dog!

Your furry friend can predict an earthquake, sniff a bomb out at LaGuardia, and chase a cougar up a tree, so it should come as no surprise that your dog can determine if your boyfriend is a keeper or not.
Your pup can sniff out whether he's a good catch. Knowing what clues to look for can tell you if your dog hates your boyfriend, or if your dog likes your boyfriend and thinks he's worth keeping around.
Here's how your dog puts the men you date to the test:
1. The Tail Wag Test
A dog's tail tells all! A wag is a "yay" vote, but a stiff tail between the legs is big "nay." Same deal if the ears are pinned back — chances are you're about to have sushi with an ax murderer — reconsider.
2. The Growling Test
If your dog passes a guy at the park and bears her teeth or starts snarling, you've got yourself a problem. Dedicated to protecting you, dogs know a bad egg when they see one. If your pooch feels threatened, throw a stick and the both of you run in the opposite direction!
3. The Crotch Sniff Test
A polite sniff of the crotch is an overwhelming stamp of approval. A crotch bite, on the other hand, is a double loss for your man!
4. The Lick Test
If Fido is licking your guy by the third date, whoa, you're good to go. If that lick of approval happens on the first date, get your guy to Kay Jewelers as soon as possible.

5. The Fetch Test
There's much to gain by observing the interactions between a stick, your dog, and your potential suitor.
Your date throws the stick. Great sign! He shows an interest in your dog. The thing is, this doesn't tell you how Fido feels about him.
Does your dog fetch the stick? If so, your pooch is cool with leaving you temporarily. Next, watch to see who Fido brings the stick back to. Your boyfriend? You've got a keeper. You? The jury is still out — throw the stick again.
If Fido fetches per usual, enough trusts exists for your new guy to leave you alone with him for a minute. But, if Fido stays put and your guy gets the stick? You're likely dating a bonehead. Go home and revamp that online dating profile.
6. The Car Ride Test
Your date picks you up, invites you and your dog to get an ice cream. So far, so good! Look in the backseat and see which side your pooch chooses. If it's your boyfriend's side, your dog is totally comfortable being close to your guy. Rest assured you can match that comfort.
Of course, it could also means that the airflow is better on the tongue on that side when your dog's head is out the window. If your dog sticks to your side of the car, the jury is still out on your man — so, for now? Proceed with caution.
7. The Greet Test

8. The Solo Walk Test
Perhaps everything has checked out so far. Awesome! But, this is the really BIG test! It's time for your man's "solo challenge" with your furry BFF. Send them out together, give your guy a poop bag, and watch through the window.
If he's "the one," they'll get along just fine. If your dog is walking him, you know Fido has no respect for this man. But if your dog is well-behaved and heeling, this guy exudes strength and confidence. If he poos in front of your man, your dog is very comfortable and you've definitely picked a winner worth keeping!
It's time to stop relying on your friends and family to determine if your guy is a keeper and start trusting the only being on earth who loves you unconditionally. Your dog has senses that are far superior than we mere humans will ever have, so why not take advantage of them by putting your guy through these eight dog approval tests!
