"Ninety nine percent of the time it's not urgent and to create a culture where you are constantly plugged in and expected to be always-on is to create a culture of burnout." ~ Arianna Huffington

About Brent Roy

I'm a professional coach and my passion is to help people discover their values and reclaim balance in their life and work. I was awarded the designation of Associate Certified Coach (ACC) through the International Coach Federation in 2018, and, in October 2021, the Professional Certified Coach (PCC) designation with the ICF. I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Ministry and I graduated from the University of New Brunswick's Public Service Management Program in 2012 where I received the IPAC President's Award for Excellence in Public Service Management.

Most of my career has been in the field of communications, specializing in media relations and crisis communications, most recently as a regional communications director in a large health authority with 13,000 employees and 100 hospitals and healthcare facilities. In August of 2020, I transitioned to Human Resources within the same organization to take on the role of developing and leading a healthy and respectful workplaces program. In my first career, I spent a decade in broadcasting, working as an announcer at several radio stations in eastern Canada, including CFGM in Toronto.

My wife and I live on the east coast of Canada and have three grown children living in various locations around the world. Our eldest son is doing his post-doctoral research in inorganic chemistry at Oxford University in England. Our middle son founded and operates a successful video production company and Halifax, Nova Scotia and our daughter is an educational worker in a private school and owns her own photography business.

I love bicycling, reading, winter vacations to warmer climes with my wife and good-quality coffee.
