What Is Adultery? 10 Bible Verses About Cheating
Don't be a cheat.
Cheating can cause disappointment and heartache. The Bible is pretty clear on its stance on the subject of adultery and unfaithfulness.
What does it mean to cheat or to be a cheater?
Cheating has so many definitions and different words involve the act of cheating.
Whether a person is cheating on an exam, a game or relationship, it all ends with the same result…disappointment.
What is the definition of adultery?
According to Lexico.com, to 'cheat' means to "act dishonest or unfair to gain an advantage".
Per the Bible, cheating on your spouse is 'adultery' but you can also cheat in other ways. The type of cheating in a relationship causes disappointment as well as heartache.
Physical cheating versus emotional cheating are two topics that can arise in many debates. Either way, they both can impact a relationship negatively.
Many factors play into why people cheat.
As stated above, the act is to gain an advantage. But in a relationship, what advantage would come from cheating on the person you love?
When in love, people tend to think the feeling is not everlasting or mutual which can cause someone to cheat or hurt the person before they get hurt.
What is the advantage of cheating?
Hurting them before they can hurt you because getting hurt can be unimaginable.
Another advantage is when people are insecure themselves, they tend to want to make their partner feel inferior or even more insecure than them. Let’s just be blunt about it. Misery loves company.
But with these advantages come emotions. These emotions can expand to the cheater, their partner and even to the person the cheater cheats with. All parties will be affected, all parties will be impacted.
After cheating on your partner, it can leave two ground feelings: you can feel awful and won’t do it again or you can feel “fake” awful and will do it again.
But in most cases, if you forgive a cheater and take them back it could lead to a serial problem.
Once a cheater, always one. If you aren't happy just leave.
The trauma of getting cheated on can lead your partner to become too jealous and insecure. Wondering where your partner is at all times can lead to you not being able to live your life.
Becoming consumed with what and how a person is doing can be overwhelming. So, forgiving a cheater can be much worse than the cheating itself because the resentment will lead to destruction.
Destruction is one of the leading results after a person cheats on their partner. Their partner can become angry after the hurting fades. It could lead to violence and bitterness within the relationship.
So what’s the best solution for when you are in a relationship and want to cheat, just be honest upfront, try to fix the issues before you cheat and if that doesn’t work then leave.
It’s never too late to start over and change your life. You can do this without causes anyone pain or anger if you be honest. The bible is the leading book on knowledge and life.
