Who is TayF3rd?  His unique name is pronounced "Tay-F-Erd," and he hails from the same city that produced rap legends Snoop Dogg, Warren G, and DPG.

With his slender, yet welcoming look, TayF3rd actually looks a lot like the aforementioned Snoop Dogg in his younger days. But don't mistake him for a "gimmick" rapper; he's actually honed his chops with the best of the best in the 21st century, and he's poised to take 2020 by storm with his career.

So why is he making headlines for a brief encounter with a stripper-turned-Kardashian family iconoclast? Let's look at what we know about TayF3rd and his encounter with Blac Chyna.

1. Who is TayF3rd? He boasts about his ability to "make music to jerk to."

As was mentioned previously TayF3rd represents the city of Long Beach, CA. While many people associate that city with the aforementioned legends, TayF3rd's style and flow is all his own.

"I Smoke, I Drink, I Jerk" is his best known single to date, and he frequently collaborates with other local rappers like Elijah Banx and DaKiddFlow. Per his Instagram, he's also a part of "Uncle Snoop's Army."

2. He's half-Korean.

TayF3rd recently revealed that he's half-Korean: his father is an immigrant from South Korea, and his given name is Tay Kim. TayF3rd also said that he got his stage name from the Filthy's game in Long Beach, CA, and the "3" was a tribute to Saviii 3, which he says is a symbol for "family."

3. TayF3rd has a complicated relationship with his contemporary YG.

Many hip hop fans believed that TayF3rd had a "beef" with his contemporary YG, but the rapper recently clarified that while it was certainly complicated, he had nothing but respect for him.

"When I stopped talking, the internet’s like 'this n##ga got beef with YG.' Because I didn't say nothing about it, that's what made it a problem. I seen him at DB Lounge, I told him 'I don’t know what’s going on with you, but I ain’t got no issues.' He’s like 'man I ain’t got no problems with you. You help me make this music, what you talking about Tay?' When I heard him say that, I’m like 'he's still a real one.' I got the most love for him," he said.

4. But he got into a full-on fight with Trippie Redd.

Unfortunately, not everything with TayF3rd has been all love and positivity. About three years ago, in 2017, he got into a fight with another popular rapper named Trippie Redd. The altercation, of course, was caught on video for the whole world to see. And while the fight was pretty terrible, TayF3rd explained that his issue with Trippie Redd has to do with his line "Always Throwing Up B's, Never Throwing Up C's."

That line, says TayF3rd, is a reference to the Bloods and Crips, who have had a long-standing rivalry. While Redd is a Blood (or so he claims), TayF3rd is a Crip, and that was the basis of their fight.

5. Blac Chyna slid into TayF3rd's DMs.

In a post on Instagram that was subsequently deleted (but, as these things are wont to do, the screenshot lived on forever), TayF3rd revealed that Blac Chyna tried to "holler" at him in his DMs. She started out the conversation in a pretty simple way: "You not gon' introduce yourself?" followed by a flirting face emoji.

6. But he curved her, and got called out for making his private DMs public.

Even though TayF3rd subsequently deleted the public posting, many of his fans called him out for the "b***h move" of posting his private messages for the public to see.

"Does he want clout for curving Chyna?? Desperate a** simp his is," wrote one fan. "He's too broke to afford to be seen with her in public, so he reduces himself to this," wrote another.
