Angie's daughter Mackenzie Mckee became an overnight sensation when she was cast in 16 and Pregnant after getting pregnant with her then-boyfriend, Josh McKee's, child. Shortly after their first son, Gannon, was born, the duo got married. They would go on to have two more children — daughter Jaxie Taylor and son Broncs Weston — before splitting this year over allegations of infidelity.

Through it all, however, Angie Douthit stuck by her daughter's side. The details of her cancer fight were shared over social media, shedding a beautiful light on her faith, her decision to forgo treatment at the end and how Angie died with her family by her side.

2. Angie Douthit went into hospice care a few days before her death.

In another Instagram post shared just before she passed away, Angie Douthit revealed that she admitted herself into hospice care because her cancer had spread to her liver and to her brain. While hospice care is often considered a good solution for those who are in the end stages of whatever disease they're battling, it didn't make it any easier on the Douthit family. Still, Angie Douthit tried to comfort her family, friends, and fans by quoting from 1 Corinthians 15:55, which reads, in part, "O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?"

3. Her cancer battle was shown on Teen Mom OG.

It's always difficult to deal with a parent suffering through a debilitating illness. And Angie Douthit's cancer diagnosis was no different for her daughter, Mackenzie McKee, who detailed her mother's battle with cancer during this season of Teen Mom OG. Mackenzie revealed, in fact, that her mother's diagnosis was so dire that she'd been given only six months to live. Angie Douthit, for her part, handled it well: "Well, I hope I've been a good mom and a good nanny. And I hope you guys will tell your kids about me all the time," she said.

4. Angie Douthit wrote a book called God's Plan.

On March 12, 2019, Angie Douthit released a book she'd written with Ardre Orie called God's Plan. In the book, she detailed how a "chance visit to the doctor" revealed her cancer diagnosis and challenged her faith in God, which had sustained her for the longest time.

5. She chose to stop treatment.

Just three days before her death, Angie Douthit told her followers that she had stopped treatment for cancer. She said that, in addition to cancer metastasizing to her brain and liver, there was also "hemorrhaging in the brain." And, because she didn't know what the next day was going to bring, she decided to accept only two more treatments before ceasing treatment altogether.

6. Angie Douthit died of cancer.

Angie Douthit's daughter, Mackenzie McKee, revealed that her mother "did not lose the battle" against cancer, but that she'd "finished the race."

"She is healed and running in heaven in eternity," she wrote on her Instagram page. "Your entire life you never waisted a chance to let the world know God's love. When we would try to brag on what an amazing person you are you would respond with “it’s not me, it’s God” Could you imagine this world if we all lived like Angie Douthit? ... Momma, I did not deserve you. But you loved me so unconditionally. You were the glue that held me together. The one who always believed in me. Idk what I will do without you but I hope this goes by fast so I can hurry and come be with you. You passed a torch down to us and I will not fail you. I will live for Christ and love Him like you always taught me. I will make you proud momma."

Our thoughts are with Angie Douthit's family during this difficult time.
