Miley Cyrus has everyone talking about her new rumored boyfriend — based on recent Instagram posts and recent sightings, it's Cyrus has started dating long-time friend, Cody Simpson — even recently getting matching tattoos with him.
Cyrus, who is in the middle of her divorce with Liam Hemsworth and who also just split from girlfriend Kaitlynn Carter, seems to be looking for a new kind of love — and Simpson may have something all the others may not be able to offer — he's a poet known as Prince Neptune, and he knows a thing or two about getting his feelings out using all the right words.
Born in Australia in 1997, Cody Simpson and his two siblings spent the early years growing up on the Gold Coast. Simpson had garnered some YouTube love when he posted videos of himself singing such hits as "I Want You Back" by the Jackson 5, and "Cry Me A River" by Justin Timberlake, so when he was just 12 years old, he was discovered by music producer Sean Campbell. Campbell was so impressed by Simpson that he signed him to Atlantic Records, and in 2011, Simpson released a single called "On My Mind".
In 2014 Cody Simpson parted ways with Atlantic records to start his own record label, Coast House. His first self-sponsored single, "Flower", was produced by Grammy-nominated music producer Cisco Adler. Simpson's idea behind creating his own label stemmed from his desire to be authentic in his music. He explained that "some people are relying on their music being played on the radio ... I’m not worried about that. I’m 18. If I can put a cool album out that is reflective of my lifestyle and the other kind of music that inspires me [is] sick.”
While Simpson is still putting out music with his band Coast House Records, he has put his solo career on the back burner to pursue acting, making a cameo appearance on Nick at Nite’s Instant Mom. You can also see him in an episode of Cougar Town, and the TV movie One Crazy Cruise.
