Laura Dern Finally Addresses Those Bradley Cooper Dating Rumors
Laura Dern is setting the record straight.
Instagram Rumors have been circulating all summer that Laura Dern, 52, and Bradley Cooper, 44 are a thing — as in a romantic thing. The two were spotted out and about in New York City in June and the internet went wild with speculation about whether or not the two actors were dating. Well, Dern is here to set the record straight and share her thoughts on why people jump to conclusions about romance when a man and a woman are simply spending time together. Are Laura Dern and Bradley Cooper dating?
1. She understands the curiosity
Dern understands why people are interested in Bradley Cooper's dating status and she doesn't blame anyone for their interest. She knows people are curious, especially in the wake of the Lady Gaga speculation during A Star is Born and his recent breakup from Irina Shayk.
2. They are great friends
Laura Dern shut down the rumors that she and Cooper are just friends. At the L.A. Loves Alex's Lemonade event on September 14, Dern told Us Weekly: “We’re amazing friends. We’re so lucky. And we’re family. I mean, everybody’s always gonna comment about whatever seems intriguing, and he’s the greatest human, and one of my best friends in the world. So I don’t blame anyone for having deep curiosity about his life cause he’s spectacular."
3. How did the rumors start?
You know, if a man and a woman so much as walk down a street together the tabloids will immediately proclaim them a couple. Dern and Cooper were spotted having lunch together in June — a totally normal thing for friends to do — and the internet lost its collective mind.
4. More Big Little Lies?
Will there be a season three to the hit HBO drama Big Little Lies? In the series, Dern plays high strung Renata. She was asked about the possibility of another season of the show that also starts Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman. Dern could not confirm whether or not season three is in the works. She said: "To be honest, every single moment I get to play her [Renata] is stand out cause I love that character so much. We are so lucky that people connect to it [the show] so much and, we really love it, love making it. And I’m a fan. So, I’m happy other people find it something interesting too."
5. What's next for Cooper?
Bradley is working on a co-parenting arrangement with Irina Shayk for their daughter. He's also set to star as the title character in Bernstein, a biopic about the legendary composer Leonard Bernstein.
6. Plenty of other Cooper dating rumors
Laura Dern may have taken her name off the table when it comes to the Bradley Cooper dating rumor mill but she's far from the only woman that the internet has tried to link him to.
