More than a few people were wondering if, indeed, Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper took their on-screen romance off-screen because they looked a little too close for comfort "in real life." Ever since the rip-roaring success of A Star Is Born, fans of both Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga have noted that the duo may have taken their romance from reel life to real life. And their thoughts about the state of affairs (ha!) were further fueled by Lady Gaga’s split from her longtime boyfriend, and Bradley Cooper’s split from his longtime girlfriend.
Let’s look at what we know about this rumored love affair.
1. Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga have reportedly “gotten close” since Bradley split from Irina Shayk.
According to Inside Edition, Bradley Cooper has reportedly grown much closer to his “Bad Romance” co-star after he’d split from Irina Shayk, with whom he shares a daughter.
“In the wake of the split, many are wondering whether Cooper will get together with Lady Gaga, with whom he shared a steamy duet at the Oscars earlier this year. The two starred in "A Star Is Born" and their chemistry on screen was the talk of the town after it came out last year,” reported the outlet, who also said that Irina Shayk was merely trying to work out an appropriate custody arrangement with Bradley now that they’re no longer together.
2. Bradley Cooper has admitted, in the past, that he “fell in love” with Lady Gaga.
According to Us Weekly, Bradley Cooper may have been at the center of all of this drama when he admitted that he “fell in love” with Lady Gaga in February of 2018. Even if he only meant it in the most innocent of ways, there’s still something to be said for respecting your then-partner.
“I remember when we first met, after 10 minutes we were eating homemade food that she cooked — I love to eat — and that was actually a huge bond that we both came from East Coast Italian-American families. So, we had a real synchronicity on that level from our upbringing,” Bradley said, according to the outlet. “I fell in love with her face and eyes.”

3. Irina Shayk claimed that her relationship with Bradley Cooper ended because he was spending too much time with Lady Gaga.
According to The Mirror, Irina Shayk liked the fact that Bradley Cooper was home with her all the time. However, the more time he spent away from home to film A Star Is Born — and, subsequently, the more time he spent with Lady Gaga — the further they drifted apart.
“The source revealed that "there was lots of effort put into trying to make it work," but no matter how many "discussions and chats," they had, it was Bradley's physical absence that put the biggest strain on the relationship. The source continued: "He wasn’t at home as much as he’d have liked,” per the outlet, who also claimed that Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga’s performance of “Shallow” at the Oscars — and the subsequent press speculation surrounding the performance — did nothing to make Irina feel better about her relationship.
4. Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga have a “deep bond.”
Regardless of their dating status, it’s clear Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga have a “special bond.” Whether that bond is friendly or romantic, however, remains to be seen.
“He has a huge and overwhelming connection to Gaga but whether it becomes a real love story in their lives for all the world to see is premature,” said Fox News. “The rumors about Bradley and Gaga having a love affair didn’t help especially with his constant travels [promoting the film].”
