Holly Marie Combs and her longtime boyfriend Mike Ryan are married! The couple married in an intimate outdoor ceremony in a grove of redwoods at the Santa Lucia Preserve in beautiful Carmel, California. Family and friends in attendance included the Charmed and Pretty Little Liars actress' costars Brian Krause and Drew Fuller. Who is Mike Ryan?
1. They met in 2016
Holly Marie Combs and Mike Ryan met in 2016 at his Los Angeles restaurant Xoc. They met five years after Combs divorced her second husband and father to her sons Finley, 15, Riley, 12, and Kelley, 10. Combs told People: “We had both come to the point in our lives where we were very dedicated to our kids, and okay with the fact that we would probably raise them as single parents. It’s that age-old story of when you’re not looking for something, that’s when you find it. And it smacked me right in the face!” Ryan has a 17-year-old daughter.
2. They took things slow
After they met in 2016, Combs and Ryan went on "proper dates." She said, “We courted for quite a while. We both have kids so we were careful and cautious and slow.” When Ryan proposed in 2017, he made sure to include all of their kids in the event. Combs said, “He joked that way I couldn’t say no.” However, he had no reason to worry. “Just when I stopped looking for the perfect person, the perfect person showed up.”
3. Third time's the charm
Combs and Ryan have largely kept their relationship out of the public eye. However, in August, Combs shared a number of photos of the couple in a countdown to their big dead. On August 16, she said: "I’ve been wrong about a million times but I got one thing right...you. Baby I got one thing right." She included the hashtags "final countdown" and "one thing right." On August 18th, she shared photos from her bachelorette party. She captioned them: "Long and happy life" and added the hashtag #3rdtimeisthecharm.
4. Her past marriages
The 45-year-old actress was married twice previously. In 1993 she married actor Bryan Travis Smith. They divorced in 1997. On February 14, 2004, she married David Donoho, her longtime boyfriend and key-grip on Charmed. They have three sons together. They divorced in 2011. Mike Ryan, a restaurateur, is her third husband.
5. Her feelings about Charmed reboot
Holly is not a fan of the CW's reboot of Charmed. In January 2018, she said that the show was being billed as "feminist," as if the original show was not, notes USA Today. On January 26, 2018, she tweeted: "Here’s the thing. Until you ask us to rewrite it like Brad Kern did weekly don’t even think of capitalizing on our hard work. Charmed belongs to the 4 of us, our vast amount of writers, crews and predominantly the fans," Combs tweeted on Jan. 26, 2018. "FYI you will not fool them by owning a title/stamp. So bye."
6. She really, really doesn't like the Charmed reboot
Combs did not mince words when talking about how she feels about the new series. She wrote: "And another thing. Reboots or remakes, as we used to call them, usually have storylines so similar to the original that they are legally required to use the same title and buy the rights to that title. If it’s not similar than it’s just another show. A new show with a new title."
