Jamie Foxx and Katie Holmas have been dating for about six years now. Over the weekend, the 51-year-old actor was spotted leaving the Bootsy Bellows nightclub in L.A. at 2am while holding hands with a mystery woman. Which begs the question: Where was Katie? Did they break up? The mystery woman turns out to be a young singer that Jamie has been mentoring. He's been featured prominently on her social media accounts all summer. She's been captioning the snaps with thanks for giving her her big break. Also, Jamie appeared with Sela and the rapper J Young on an interview on the L.A. radio station Power 106FM last month where he praised her talent and star potential. Who is Sela Vave?
1. They walked hand-in-hand to his car
Jamie Foxx and Sela Vave left the West Hollywood hotspot Bootsy Bellows at 2am. They walked hand-in-hand to his car. It very much looked like they were on a date, prompting people to wonder what's going on with Katie Holmes. Foxx and Holmes finally went public with their relationship at the 2019 Met Gala after six years together. Pretty much from the time of them going public breakup rumors have circulated about them.
2. She's from Utah
Sela moved to Los Angeles from Utah in July 2019 when Jamie gave her the chance to be mentored by him. That offer came in June and Sela promptly packed up her car with her clothes and belongings and drove to L.A.
3. She's a singer
According to the Power 106 interview Sela did with Jamie, she's always wanted to be a singer. She said she's been singing "Ever since I could talk. I have one single out on iTunes but we’re working on my debut album.”
4. She's a model
Sela is repped by Talent Management Group in Salt Lake City. They've been booking her on modeling shoots since 2014. For Sela though, singing comes first, modeling is just a way to pay the bills. On her Facebook page, Sela says: “I am a professional model and actor. Music is life and I love sports."
5. Jamie believes in her
During the Power 106 inteview, Jamie said: "She walked in and everyone was like ‘what’s up with the new girl?’ When I meet her, next thing I know she’s sitting on my stairs with an acoustic guitar singing a broken down version of Beyonce, and she wasn’t trying to be Fantasia or Whitney Houston. I feel like she’s really going to make some noise.”
6. She thanked him publicly
On June 30, Sela posted a black and white photo of her and Jamie and captioned it: “I am so grateful to this man! Thank you so much @iamjamiefoxx for everything you do and for believing in me. #feelingblessed" On July 18, she posted photos with Jamie and a link to the Power 106 interview on Facebook and said: “I finally made the big move to L.A. and a lot of amazing things have been happening for me thanks to Jamie Foxx that I’m really excited about…” along with some photos with him and a link to their Power 106 interview.
