Who Is Shia LaBeouf's Father? New Details On Jeffrey LaBeouf — Who's A Fugitive And Convicted Sex Offender

Actor Shia LaBeouf is known for being a child actor on the Disney Channel, and he's also known for having a last name that nobody can ever seem to spell or pronounce correctly. LaBeouf’s breakout role was on the series Even Stevens, and made his film debut in The Christmas Path. His other acting credits include Disturbia, Surf’s Up, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, and the Transformers franchise.

LaBeouf has also directed films and been involved in public performance art projects. But aside from his acting roles, he’s most known for his legal troubles and controversies. He was charged with plagiarism in 2013, disorderly conduct and criminal trespass in 2014, and public drunkenness in 2017.

But perhaps most interesting is his family. Who is Shia LaBeouf’s father? Jeffrey LaBeouf isn’t just the father of the actor — he’s a criminal, convicted sex offender, and a fugitive! While Shia was growing up, his dad struggled with heroin and alcohol addiction. Trained as a commedia dell’arte clown, he also served three terms in the Vietnam War.

Jeffrey LaBeouf was jailed for two years from 1981 to 1983 for the attempted rape of a minor. He fled the U.S. in 2014 after he violated his requirements of registering as a convicted sex offender.

In addition, he was charged with kidnapping and assault with a deadly weapon in 1981. In 2000, an unnamed actress on the set of Even Stevens accused him of sexual harassment. Shia also confirmed that his father attacked a gay Disney executive who gave him a hug.

After he disappeared, authorities weren’t sure where he went. But now, according to RadarOnline, he’s been found.

At 71 years old, LaBeouf is living in a resort town in Costa Rica, and he’s been taunting police. He posted on social media, “It’s a good day in San Juan de Dios Costa Rica,” and in another post, wrote, “Hahaha. I was just texting a friend when it occurred to me how blessed I am.”

Unfortunately for the police, they can’t do anything. Said one insider for the LAPD, “There is nothing anybody can do at this time if he’s in Costa Rica because extradition is so difficult.”

Though he’s currently unable to be extradited, we’ll get a taste of what life was like growing up with Jeffrey LaBeouf. Shia is playing a man based on his father in a film whose screenplay he wrote called Honey Boy.

The film is about their relationship, believed to be the cause of Shia’s troubles. According to Esquire, the movie is “a child actor and his law-breaking, alcohol-abusing father attempt to mend their contentious relationship over the course of a decade.”

“My dad is the key to most of my base emotions. My greatest and my worst memories are with my father, all my major trauma and major celebration came from him. It’s a negative gift. And I’m not ready to let go of it, because anger has a lot of power,” he revealed in a 2014 interview.
