Who Is Heidi Montag's Dad? New Details On Bill Montag — Who Pleaded Guilty To Child Abuse Charges

If you’ve been following reality television since its inception, you probably remember Laguna Beach and its spin-off series, The Hills. The show focused on Laguna Beach alums Lauren Conrad, Audrina Patridge, Whitney Port, Lo Bosworth, and Heidi Montag (as well as her then-boyfriend, Spencer Pratt).

After the show ended, Montag and Pratt continued to make headlines with Pratt’s obnoxious personality front and center. Still, the couple eloped in 2008 and welcomed their first child in 2017, seemingly ending their scandalous relationship and numerous appearances in the news.

Yeah, that didn’t happen. But recently, Montag’s father’s name has been all over the internet. Who is Heidi Montag’s father?

Aside from appearing on The Hills when Montag and Pratt tied the knot, Bill Montag has found himself in quite a bit of legal trouble.

Back in 2015, Montag was arrested on allegations of committing incest and sexually abusing a 13-year-old girl. According to TMZ, the abuse occurred between 1993 and 1998, and was abused more than 50 times.

The accusers claimed that Montag began grooming her with back rubs, and at one point, climbed into bed with her when she was 16 and attempted to remove her underwear.

Said the police complaint, Montag said, “I want to have sex with you,” and when she rejected him, he said, “I thought you loved me the way I love you.”

She allegedly came forward in 2013 after confessing the abuse to her therapist and the abuse only stopped after the victim wrote Montag a letter demanding he stop or she would tell everything to family members. Later in life, she suffered from substance abuse and addiction, and attempted suicide.

On the charges of incest, Heidi and her older sister, Holly, were too old to be alleged victims; however, they have a younger brother, Sky. But neither of the sisters were named as victims of Montag. The Montag family also claimed that the accuser was “determined to destroy the family” and stalked them at public events.

A source close to the Montag family told Us Weekly that Heidi didn’t believe her father was guilty, saying, “It’s all coming from an estranged family member with ulterior motives. Heidi doesn’t believe any of it. She grew up in that house and knows her father’s character and 100 percent believes all of the accusations are false.”

But now, four years later, Bill Montag has pleaded guilty to sexual assault on a child and aggravated incest, despite originally pleading not guilty. He will not spend any time in jail and instead was sentenced to four years probation.

“Allegations were brought forward by a woman, who is now an adult, who had alleged a sexual assault a little more than 15 years ago during a period of time when she was between 14 and 17,” said Capt. Larry Etheridge of the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office. Etheridge also said that Montag denied the allegations and didn’t admit his guilt.

In the wake of the allegations and his guilty plea, it was revealed Heidi hasn’t spoken to her father in years. He walked her down the aisle during her wedding and gave her away to Pratt while appearing on The Hills.
