Off the field, the personal lives of athletes can get pretty juicy, especially when they’re going through a breakup. And with former Miss Universe Olivia Culpo and on-and-off-again boyfriend Danny Amendola, who plays wide receiver for the Detroit Lions, things were front and center.
The two began dating in 2016, called it quits in late 2018, but reconciled. However, they broke up again in 2019, and it seems like things are for real this time. Amendola called out Culpo on Instagram, taking huge jabs about her, their relationship, and its demise:
“Olivia chooses and wants to be noticed on the internet and in Hollywood to make money. Which was hard for me to understand but quickly had to learn. Where as [sic] the cost of fame in this world doesn’t appeal to me. I play ball for one reason and that’s RESPECT.
Olivia and I had some amazing times together... jus [sic] like any other loving relationship we fought. A lot of the time it was my fault bc let’s be honest I can be an idiot. But! Yup! She’s f–ked up too! and if you cross me I’m a hard mfer to deal with...
Reading all these wild stories about her and I, and Olivia with other men, I just wanted to personally clear the air out here. We’ve been on and off for a long time and not together as of late! Not sure what’s in the future but the only thing I care about is her HAPPINESS. And if that’s dancing with scrony [sic] little f–ks, so be it. I’m happy too.”
Amendola has already moved on, dating Instagram influencer Emily Tanner, but has Culpo?
Word on the street is that she’s made her way to another NFL player. So, are Olivia Culpo and Christian McCaffrey dating?
According to a source for Us Weekly, Culpo has been spending time with McCaffrey following her split from Amendola. The two have been following each other on Instagram since April, and Culpo liked a photo that McCaffrey uploaded on Instagram, where he’s showing off his body.
McCaffrey plays running back for the Carolina Panthers, and has 107 receptions, which is more than any other running back in NFL history! But are the two actually together, or are they just flirting? This year at Coachella, Culpo was seen canoodling with Zedd! As they watched Ariana Grande’s set, they swayed back and forth and Zedd had his arm around Culpo.
Could this just be harmless flirting, or something more? Perhaps things are just in the beginning stages for Culpo, or she’s exploring her options.
Either way, a source for Us Weekly dished on Amendola and how he has been “talking to and texting” other women, presumably in addition to Tanner.
“Danny has been talking to and texting other girls. He tells people that Olivia wanted to get married and he basically self-sabotaged their relationship because he didn’t want that. There were a few times where they broke up and got back together, but they just don’t work well together,” the source claimed.
