When you're feeling a certain emotion, like jealousy, it usually drives a lot more than just a feeling of not being adequate enough or feeling like you're competing with your friends. For a few zodiac signs, jealousy can take on a life of its own.
Being jealous of your friends means actively looking for ways to be better than them, criticizing yourself when things don't go well for you, and even serious negative self-talk that can make it hard to eat, sleep, or function.
When jealousy comes easy and often to you, it can feel like your whole life revolves around this emotion. Not only that, but the relationships you have with others can be affected negatively by your feelings of jealousy, too.
Like a lot of different, strong emotions, we can't control jealousy. Sure, we can try to talk ourselves "off the ledge" and make sure that we don't do something we'll regret thanks to jealousy, but really, the simple presence of jealousy just adds fire to the flames.

Obviously, it takes active practice – you can't expect to stop being jealous of your friends without making an effort – but challenging your current mindset is possible. For some zodiac signs, practicing challenging jealousy is going to take a lot of work, but it's certainly possible.

ARIES (March 21 - April 19)
Aries is a very competitive person in general, so it should come as no surprise that this need to compete tends to bleed into other areas of his life, as well. When Aries gets jealous of his friends, it’s because they’re doing something or have something that he doesn’t… yet.
Aries does love his friends – there’s no doubt about that – but there’s always that little voice in the back of his mind that tells him he’d love them more if he was the number one friend in the squad. There’s absolutely no reason for Aries’ jealousy, it’s just who he is, and you can’t change that.
TAURUS (April 20 - May 20)
What makes Taurus such a possessive person when it comes to his things and the people in his life is that he highly values the things he’s worked hard for. No, he doesn’t want to share his friends and no, he doesn’t want to share his clothes because they’re his, thank you very much.
But even though he’s possessive of his friends, he’s also pretty jealous of them, too. Taurus has a very “mine, mine, mine” mindset. If his friends have a pair of shoes or a job that he wants, he gets jealous. Why doesn’t he have those things? Doesn’t he work hard for his money?
CANCER (June 21 - July 22)
As much as he tries to hide it, Cancer’s friends know that Cancer can often be pretty insecure and pessimistic. He wants his squad to know that he’ll always be there for them, but all of this support for them doesn’t always leave enough time for him to have his own back.
Cancer gets jealous of his friends when they are able to do things that he can’t. Whether he’s too shy or doesn’t believe he can succeed at the same things his friends can, he broods with this secret jealousy that sometimes never fully comes out.

Virgo is one of those people who is constantly comparing himself to everyone else around him, whether he knows it and whether he’s actually doing it on purpose. Sometimes, it’s out of jealousy, other times, it’s just him making sure he’s on the right track.
