Are you trustworthy or more likely to lie?

Ever since we were very small and impressionable, we were taught that we should never lie. Not only that lying was bad, but that it could ruin relationships and friendships, and basically make us seem very untrustworthy to others, too.
While this is still true, no one has never not lied before. It’s just kind of something that happens to the best (and worst) of us. I know you’ll agree with me, but I feel like all I ever see on the news these days is more stories about lying, and it’s exhausting.
Whether it’s one of those big, nasty lies that gets out one way or another or just a little white lie that isn’t meant to do anyone any harm, we ALL have an experience with lying in one sense or another. While I’m not a huge fan of lying and lairs, I can be a liar myself.
I DO try to convince myself that the lies I tell are for a greater cause, but in short, I’m still telling lies. I also know that telling lies really can’t be very good for my health or my skin. But people feel differently about lying, whether they actually care that they’re being untruthful or not.
Some people know that they’re lying and still choose to do it. Other times, people just don’t put that much significance on their “lies.” They think that if they don’t really know what the truth is, they can just kind of pull something out of thin air and it won’t be that big a deal.
For some people, lying really isn’t a big deal, but others taking any form of dishonesty seriously, and it may have something to do their planet placements in astrology. I once had a friend who would like simply because it was easier than telling the truth. For example, if someone asked her if she went grocery shopping that day, she would tell them no (even if she did go), just so that she wouldn’t have to them tell the curious person what she bought.
If caught in one of her “lies,” she’d always just say, “Eh, I did go shopping but I was just too lazy to tell you the truth.” While this was a totally bizarre thing to do in general, it also drove me nuts. Being one of her best friends, I always knew when she wasn’t being truthful… so why was it so hard for her to just not lie?
Was it really that much more convenient for her? Clearly, it still frustrates me after all this time. Maybe it had something to do with her horoscope sign, maybe that was just the person she wanted to be. If you ask me, making lying such a second-nature habit like this can only lead to more bad habits.
Here is how likely you are to lie, based on your zodiac sign.
1. GEMINI (May 21 - June 20)
Gemini, you are the zodiac sign most likely to lie because of your split personality. As the twins of the zodiac, you have two sides to your very complex personality. What people might not know about you is that this dual personality of yours is to blame.
You're often known as being two-faced. You like to tell tall tales, white lies, and even damaging lies, all because it's fun to you. Because you like being the center of attention, you'll often tell stories that clearly aren't true just to hold an audience. For fun or to hurt people, you like to lie.
2. LIBRA (September 23 - October 22)
You are a very charming zodiac sign, Libra, but you're also very deceptive. The reason you lie so much is because you want people to like you. And rather than just being honest with who you are, you'd rather pretend to be someone you think people will want to know, even if it's not the real you.
You are also not a huge fan of getting into trouble or facing the consequences of your mistakes. You'd much rather lie and get out of trouble – and also blame someone else – than own up to who you really are.
3. PISCES (February 19 - March 20)
One of the main reasons you lie, Pisces, is because you want to be liked by people. You will say and do anything if it means one more person sees you in an admiring light. Sometimes, the lying you do is totally subconscious – it's just habit!
You're not always a liar, but you will lie if it puts you in a better light. What can you say? You really just want to be liked by all! In your eyes, the lies you tell are all with good intention, even if you're still very much lying to others.
4. AQUARIUS (January 20 - February 18)
You are one of those zodiac signs who says they don't like to lie, but still finds themselves lying a lot more than you'd like to, Aquarius. While you like to think you're truthful and honest, that's not always who you really are.
You will lie for the greater good or when you feel like you're doing it to help others. But while you have good intentions, you're still choosing to lie instead of being honest. I know, it makes you look good to tell people what they want to hear, but is it really who you want to be?
5. CAPRICORN (December 22 - January 19)
Letting people into your life can be pretty uncomfortable for you. You would much rather no one know anything about you until you decide that you're ready to open up to them.
You don't like to lie – you'd much rather tell the truth – but you will lie if people are trying to get too personal with you. You have a knack for keeping most things to yourself but telling people just enough to make them think they know everything about you. Sneaky.
6. TAURUS (April 20 - May 20)
Taurus is pretty honest when it comes to just how much the zodiac signs can lie, but that doesn't mean you can't lie just as much as the rest of us. You just do it in a way that is less harmful than other zodiac signs.
When you lie, it's usually just white lies. Because you're pretty stubborn, you think that if you lie to get people to see your way that it's not too harmful. Plus, if it means avoiding unnecessary conflict too, all the better.
7. CANCER (June 21 - July 22)
Cancer, the only time you will lie is to spare people's feelings, but you definitely don't like doing it. You would much rather tell the truth to the people you care about, but with your big heart and tendency to smooth over the truth, it's common for you to lie to make people feel better.
You are actually one of the few zodiac signs who lie with good intention and it actually works. Even if people find out that you told a lie to spare their feelings, they are much more like to appreciate your efforts over any other zodiac sign's white lies.
8. SCORPIO (October 23 - November 21)
You are honest through and through, Scorpio. While you may not always share things about yourself if they feel too personal, you still don't resort to lying to people.
You are honest because you deserve that honesty just as much as everyone else in your life does. Lying comes with so many negative feelings that it's better to just tell it like it is. Otherwise, it eats you up inside and that's not fun for anyone.
9. VIRGO (August 23 - September 22)
You really do care about the people in your life, Virgo, and you would do just about anything to let them know that. That's why you prefer to be honest over lying. You are much more concerned with other things in life to have to worry about keeping your lies straight, too.
You are honest because it doesn't hurt anyone's feelings. You like being known as someone that people can trust, and if you lie all the time, no one is going to want to trust you with anything, right? That's why it's just better to tell it like it is, even when it's hard.
10. LEO (July 23 - August 22)
You much prefer to be truthful over a liar, Leo, because it shows that you're an adult and that you have class. Lying is just tacky, and you don't want to get the reputation of someone who can't be trusted to tell the truth.
You are honest to others because that is how you want to be treated. You believe that if you tell others the truth when they ask for it that they will return the favor to you. Honesty is very important to you, after all.
11. ARIES (March 21 - April 19)
Aries, you are one of the most brutally honest zodiac signs. Even when it's out of love for someone, you would much rather choose to be honest and tell them like it is than to leave them wondering if you're who you say you are.
One thing you know people in your life appreciate about your honesty is that they always know where they stand with you. You won't tell them one thing and then go and badmouth them behind their back. That's a quality all zodiac signs should have!
12. SAGITTARIUS (November 22 - December 21)
As someone who is always seeking the truth of the world, Sagittarius, you make it your goal in life to be as honest as possible to the people you care about. You see the value in seeing the facts, and if that means telling it like it is, so be it.
You can actually be brutally honest if you're not careful. Tact isn't exactly your forte, so it's easy for you to cross the line into offensive honesty, even if you don't mean it that way. Really, you just want to keep it real and let people know you can be trustworthy.
