Who Is Char Defrancesco? New Details About Marc Jacob's New Husband

So, who is Marc Jacob's new husband?

Char Defrancesco, age 37 is a business man, model and occasional actor. He was born on March 8, 1981 in Switzerland, making his first language French. His entire family is Italian. In Switzerland his parents owned a boarding school there. According to an interview Defrancesco did with Fashion Week Daily, his parents divorced when he was three years old, which prompted him to move back to LA since that is where his mother's side of the family grew up.

Defrancesco went to college at UCLA where he studied political science and then shortly after he opened up a retail store for hip and trendy dads. The store didn't do well because the economy crashed, and no dad was spending money at his store. So, the next step for Defrancesco was to move to New York. In New York he worked multiple jobs and gained a social media presence. After five years he returned back to the place he grew up, LA. There he proceeded to start bartending.

During this time in New York he went through a bad breakup which inspired him to do what most would, make a change. This change involved building himself a new closet from scratch. He posted the closet on social media, and after receiving positive feedback he started designing closets for other people. This led to him doing interior design.

That is what led him to Marc Jacobs. Here is what you need to know about Jacob's new husband Char Defrancesco.

1. He used to model

Defrancesco specialized in modeling underwear at one point in his life. In various Instagram posts, he can be seen showing off his muscular body as he was photographed by Marco Ovando. The Underwear Expert said that from his photos it was clear the Defrancesco was "a man who isn’t afraid of anything, no matter where he is or what situation he’s in — and he’s wearing the essentials to prove it."

When asked about how it felt to be called an underwear model, Defransceso replied "I’ve been called a lot worse for doing a lot less. [Laughs] I don’t care. My family loves me, I love my family, I have my friends who I love, who love me…life is good. It is what you make it."

2. He has a candle line

Defrancesco's candle line called A Bougie Candle By Char Defrancesco currently has two scents: Lit and Bae. According to his website, the candles are made using coconut wax, a sustainable crop and organic cotton wick. This allows his candles to burn cleaner and longer, making them the highest quality of candle. Defrancesco has an interesting background story for how he got into each of his many jobs, and the start of his candle business is no different.

In his interview with Fashion Week Daily, Defrancesco talks about how he noticed he was spending so much money on candles, more than he was spending on rent. He also noticed that for the amount of money he was spending that he wasn't getting his money's worth. The candles were falling short of his expectations. So one day, his friend recommended that he start making his own candles.

"So I started researching waxes, and I learned that coconut wax is the best wax you can have—it burns the longest and cleanest and throws more scent, but no one uses it because it’s the most expensive wax there is," he said.

Defrancesco went on to say that he really started the business to save himself some money and have something of his own.

At this moment, he only makes about 250 batches at a time, but is looking to expand his business.
