Who Is Randall Emmett? New Details About 'Vanderpump Rules' Star Lala Kent's Boyfriend

This past weekend, the first ever BravoCon took place in New York City! And though casts from most of the shows featured on the network were there, fans were most excited about Vanderpump Rules.

Stassi Schroeder announced her new spin-off digital series, Basically Stassi, while fans were treated to a special performance from DJ James Kennedy, and Lisa Vanderpump even graced the stage! But there's another revelation that the biggest Bravo fans are going crazy about: Lala Kent's fiancé, Randall Emmett.

Who is Randall Emmett? Kent has been dating Emmett since season four, though he didn't want to appear on the show. The two became engaged in September 2018, and though they had their ups and downs throughout season seven, with Emmett only being mentioned, he's now set to be featured on the show's eighth season.

Kent announced at BravoCon that her fiancé will be on the new season, and fans will get a glimpse into their relationship. She said:

“You’ll actually see quite a bit of [my relationship]. I have no idea [why he caved in]... I have no idea, but I honestly think since last season he was like, ‘We need to show people what our relationship is really like.

Because I’m the type of person, I make jokes — that’s just my sense of humor. I’m all talk. No, no bite. I think now people will be like, ‘Oh, my gosh.’ Our dynamic is totally aligned. We mesh perfectly together. And that’s all I want people to see is, like, this is who I am with my partner.”

So, with his future appearance on Vanderpump Rules, here are a few details about Emmett, his relationship with Kent, and their upcoming wedding.

1. He went from being Mark Wahlberg’s personal assistant to the co-founder of a production company.

Emmett got his start in Hollywood as a personal assistant to none other than Mark Wahlberg in 1995. Soon afterward, he linked up with George Furla. The two of them founded Emmett/Furla Films in 1998, which was then joined by Oasis Ventures Entertainment in 2013. Their production company is now known as Emmett/Furla/Oasis Films.

Some of his best-known films are 2 Guns, Lone Survivor, Escape Plan and SilenceEmmett has many projects coming up. He produced a recently released action film called Escape Plan: The Extractors, which stars Sylvester Stallone, Dave Bautista, and Devon Sawa. He's also a producer on upcoming movies, including Labor of Love, Pieces, Force of Nature, and The Pursuit.

He's also still connected to his early Hollywood roots, and plays poker with Wahlberg.

2. He and Kent began dating publicly shortly after his divorce.

Their relationship actually began back in 2016, but during that time, she would only refer to Emmett as her “man.” This protection was due to Emmett’s pending divorce from Ambyr Childers. Emmett and Childers wed in 2009 and have two children together.

But Lala wanted to give him space to process the divorce privately. And in December 2017, when the divorce was finalized, they eventually went public.

3. They met at SUR.

In an interview with Cosmopolitan from December 2018, Kent recalled how the two became acquainted:

"So, we actually met at Sur. How crazy is that? He came in for a Christmas dinner and sent his assistant up to me and asked me if he could get my manager’s contact info because he wanted me in a film. And so then we started that whole process, I booked the film, and then we just had this instant connection.

It was my first season of Vanderpump. I think only, like, three episodes had aired of Season 4. I was like, OK, I’m going to let my guard down. Whatever’s happening, I like it, you know? He makes me laugh. Give it a try. And we’ve been together almost three years now."

4. Emmett had asked Kent's father for permission before he passed away.

Kent spoke about her father in an interview on The Jenny McCarthy Show. On the June 22 episode of the show, she revealed that Emmett had asked her father for her hand before his passing in April 2018.

“My mom told me that Rand had asked my dad for my hand before he passed away over the phone,” Kent said. “I’m struggling with the fact that, like, I won’t have a dad to see me, you know, have babies or get married, so that means a lot to me that Rand did that before he passed.”

Kent also discussed her nickname for Emmett with Cosmopolitan, referring to him as “daddy husband.”

“There’s like, that saying where you marry people that are like your dad. And I never thought that that was true until I totally found someone who is just like my dad, which I am so grateful for because my dad treated my mom like she was queen of all queens.”

5. She considered leaving the show for him.

Back in December 2018, sources told Life & Style that Lala was “strongly considering leaving the show after she and Randall tie the knot... She does not want her marriage to fail because of her reality TV career, and her cast mates kind of agree with her that doing the show may cause drama in her marriage,” the source said.

Plenty of marriages have dissolved on the reality television stage, and Bravo shows are no exception. Kent has worked under Lisa Vanderpump for three years, but doesn’t want her career and subsequent reality fame to cause her to lose out on a lifetime of happiness.

“Lala has gotten what she wants out of the show and she has finally found her happily ever after. The last thing that she wants to do is mess up what she and Randall have by putting fame in front of love,” the source added.

6. But they're currently planning their wedding!

With a wedding date set for April 2020, planning for the big day hasn't been easy for the couple.

At BravoCon, Kent told E! News, "I'm ripping my hair out already, and we're five months out. But you know what, I'm so excited, because at the end of the day, everyone has told me don't get so caught up in the wedding planning that you can't enjoy the process of you becoming a family. I feel like I've done a really good job of that until this weekend, when I had to b**** everyone out."

But she also added that she doesn't want to have everything filmed for television, saying, "I just want it to be my day. There are things I don't want to talk about. I know people say, 'You signed up for this, to show your life.' But there are things that I really don't talk about, so I don't want to be forced to talk about them just because it's on camera."

While talking to Alicia Quarles during a panel, she did, however, say that she is excited, but apparently wasn't prepared for what wedding planning entails! She said, "It’s very overwhelming. It’s very exciting but I didn’t realize how much goes into wedding planning, so I’m freaking out... Scheana [Shay] just said like, 'You have to do the seating chart.' I was like, 'A seating chart? Can I just first come first serve to tables?'"
