If you want the 15 minutes that Andy Warhol promised you were your from birth, all you need to do is gather an Instagram following, launch a killer podcast, or go viral eating or drinking something disgusting. Getting "famous" is pretty easy to do if you really put your mind to it. It's staying famous that is the real challenge, and for rapper T.I.'s sister Precious Harris, it was no challenge at all.
When Precious Harris first catapulted into the public eye, it was all thanks to her infinitely more famous brother, T.I. But now, Precious has a following all of her own, and it's all thanks to the appearances she makes in her brother's reality shows, that's right, plural, the dude has two: T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle and T.I. & Tiny: Friends & Family Hustle, both of which can be found on VH1. As a family member, Precious has been featured on both shows and her appearance on them has earned her some serious fans.
That's why the news from just last week was just so shocking and why her fans all over the web and the world are reaching out hoping to connect. You see, Precious was recently in a serious car accident, one that is so major that T.I. has decreed they stopped filming both of the shows until they get more news about Precious. While we wait for her recovery, here are some important things you should know about T.I.'s awesome sister and co-star.
1. She was in a serious accident
On February 13th, Precious Harris was admitted to a hospital in Georgia after being in a serious car accident.
Though the details are still sketchy, TMZ has shared some details: It is believed that she crashed into a pole and the resulting trauma caused her to immediately begin having an asthma attack.
She was moved to the ICU and as of February 18th, she is still in the hospital being treated. Here's hoping that the stellar Precious gets well soon!
2. She's a reality TV queen
Precious Harris is the star of not one, but TWO different reality shows, all courtesy of her brother, T.I.
T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle and T.I. & Tiny: Friends & Family Hustle are major hits for VH1, and Precious's appearances on both shows rival even the biggest personalities that networks like Bravo, established masters of the reality game, have to offer.
3. Her family connections aren't what they seem
While Precious Harris was introduced on both of T.I.'s shows as his sister, the truth is actually just a little bit more complicated than that.
Precious and T.I. are actually half-siblings but that doesn't mean that these two don't love each other like crazy. T.I. and Precious share a father, Buddy Harris, who tragically passed after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Precious's mother was a woman named Odette.
4. She's a mother
Precious is a whole lot more than just a woman who appears on her famous brother's reality show. She's actually a mother in her own right, and her kids just adore her.
She is the mother of three kids: Kamaya Chapman, Avis Chapman-Reese and Kareem “Plug” Chapman.
When she was admitted to the hospital, her eldest Kamaya posted this touching message to her Instagram account: “Hey best friend. You are loved. We need you. Mama everybody is praying for you. Like everybody. You will get through this baby keep fighting WE got you."
5. She's got diehard fans
You don't need to spend much time at all on social media to see that Precious's kids aren't the only ones rooting for her.
Precious has fans all over the globe, and they want to see their favorite face back on their TV.
