Who Is Scott Pruitt's Wife? New Details On Marilyn Pruitt

Scott Pruitt was appointed as the Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency by President Trump back in February, but announced his resignation in July. Before taking on this role, which was riddled with ethical concerns and investigations, Pruitt was Attorney General of Oklahoma, and served in the Oklahoma Senate for eight years.

He’s notable for being the top gun of the EPA, yet not believing in global warming or climate change, and is an opponent of science-backed research regarding carbon dioxide emissions and mankind’s role. He was described as the “leading advocate against the EPA’s activist agenda,” and received numerous amounts of money and campaign contributions from the fossil fuel industry while running for AG. He’s even sued the EPA 14 times! Oh, and he doesn’t believe in the theory of evolution.

By the time Pruitt resigned in July, he was under multiple investigations by the Government Accountability Office, the EPA inspector general, the White House Office of Management and Budget, the U.S. Office of Special Counsel, and two House committees, all regarding his spending, secrecy, conflicts of interests, and management policies.

He also drew criticism from his frequent traveling, using taxpayer money to fund first-class travel and chartered flights. But perhaps sneakiest of all, he circumvented the White House to give raises to his closest aides, by using a narrow provision of the Safe Drinking Water Act. By June, even conservatives were calling for his resignation and in July, he was replaced by Andrew R. Wheeler as head of the agency.

But what about his family? Did they approve of his actions, or did they stand by him every step of the way? What about his spouse, in particular? Just who is Scott Pruitt’s wife? Here are 5 details to know about Marlyn Pruitt.

The Judicial Crisis Network, a group that has worked to appoint conservative judges, employed her after Pruitt himself asked one of his aides to help find her a job. According to reports, the two “solicited Republican donors and conservatives connected to the Trump administration while hunting for jobs, raising questions about Pruitt’s compliance with federal ethics rules.”

5. They aren’t all that rich.

Though it’s clear the Pruitts have a taste for the finer things in life, he’s actually not all that wealthy. His net worth is about $736,000, making him one of the least wealthy members in the Cabinet, while he was still in it. However, they do live in quite a large home in Tulsa, which was purchased for $1.2 million and has five fireplaces, a library, and a guest home
