Actor Josh Brolin, 50, and his wife, model Kathryn Boyd, 31, welcomed their first child together over the weekend. Their daughter Westlyn Reign Brolin, nicknamed Bean, is the first child for Boyd and the third for Brolin. Josh also has a 30-year-old son Trevor and a 24-year-old daughter Eden, with his first wife Alice Adair. Brolin and Boyd have been married since 2016. Who is Kathryn Boyd?
1. She was his personal assistant
Kathryn was Josh Brolin's personal assistant before they became involved romantically. She started dating Josh Brolin in 2013, shortly before his divorce from actress Diane Lane was finalized. She is also a model and the founder of Midheaven Denim, a line of jeans for taller women. She was formerly assistant to Ben Stiller.
2. Engagement and marriage
Kathryn and Josh got engaged in May 2015 and jetted off to Cabo San Lucas to celebrate with friends. They got married on September 24, 2016 at the Chattanooga Club in North Carolina. Their wedding hash tag was #JBKBStuckTogether. Guests included Josh's dad James Brolin and stepmom Barbara Streisand, Bradley Cooper, and Matt Damon. The Avett Brothers performed three songs at the ceremony.
3. His third wife and child
As mentioned, this is Josh Brolin's third wife and child. He was previously married to Alice Adair from 1988 to 1994, with whom he has two adult children close in age to his current wife. He was also married to Diane Lane from 2004 to 2013. After Brolin and Lane divorced, he checked into rehab. Brolin made headlines during his marriage to The Under the Tuscan Sun actress for a 2004 domestic abuse incident. He was arrested but Lane declined to press charges.
4. Westlyn Reign Brolin
Josh took to his Instagram account to announce the birth of his new daughter on November 4th. He posted the video below with the caption: "Dearest Ladies and Gentlemen, I would like to introduce our little girl Westlyn Reign Brolin (Bean). Mama Kathryn was stellar during this miracle birth and Bean is a flawless gem through and through. We are blessed to the core and appreciate so much the love and support during this pregnancy from ALL who have partaken in our journey, directly and/or indirectly."
5. Mama's tribute
Kathryn posted the same video to her Instagram with a caption filled with the wonder of first time motherhood: "Our family’s newest (and tiniest) member. Westlyn Reign Brolin, I love you so much already. Nothing compares to this. My heart is totally different forever. @joshbrolin thanks for this little life of ours."
