Bring out your inner feminist!

We all have causes we believe are worth fighting for, and feminism is one of them.
We especially fight for causes that we are passionate, including women's rights, because we have a personal connection to them.
It is human nature to join groups of like-minded people to make a difference in gender equality for all, no matter how big or small.
When it comes to women, history has shown that women are treated as less than. Women have to work just as hard as men, if not harder while still understanding that they might not ever receive acknowledgement for it. It truly is unfortunate.
Although some progress has been made towards women being treated as equals, there is definitely some more work that must be done. That is where feminist come in. Feminism is the advocacy of women’s rights on the basis of the equality of the sexes. Feminist around the world have been fighting for many issues including social inequality, violence against women, LGBTQ rights and much more.
They continue to put themselves on the front line to ensure that women are receiving the same opportunities as men both personally and professionally and their efforts have not gone unnoticed.
Even if you have never considered yourself to be a feminist, according to your horoscope sign you possess certain traits that would align you with certain feminist issues. Maybe you enjoy your privacy, so you fight for rights to privacy.
Maybe you believe in sexual freedom, so you fight against sexual violence against women. Maybe you support people being able to love who they want, so you fight for same sex marriage. So just ask yourself, what type of feminist am I?
Knowing is only half the battle. Once you have decided what feminism you believe in and what you are willing to fight for, that is when you can start to put the work in.
That is when you can truly start to make a difference. Using astrology, here is the type of feminist you are, the feminism you practice, and what you promote, by zodiac sign.
ARIES (March 21 - April 19)
Sex is important to an Aries, as she believes strongly in sexual freedom. This often includes her right to show as much skin as she pleases without being told she needs to cover up. As a feminist, an Aries woman fights unapologetically to end sexual violence against women.
She believes that a woman should be able to go out and show off her figure without being subject to banter from men. An Aries woman seeks to put a stop to the notion that a woman is asking to be raped or harassed in any way just because of the clothes she wears. She believes that victim blaming should be stopped immediately.
TAURUS (April 20 - May 20)
A Taurus is one of the most feminine of the zodiac signs. She enjoys being a mother figure and being compassionate to others. A Taurus woman believes in doing what is right for herself and thus extends that same courtesy to others.
While she truly enjoys cooking and taking care of her lover, things that are often called “women’s work”, she is in favor of choosing the life that suites you. She therefore supports a woman’s right to choose to stay home and for that to be considered work.
All the same, as someone who can match her male counterparts when it comes to being independent and being good with finances, she also supports a woman’s right to work in any field she desires and believes that women should receive equal pay.
GEMINI (May 21 - June 20)
Gemini women are independent and optimistic. They understand that nothing comes easy, but that with time and hard work positive changes can be made. A Gemini woman believes in respecting others and their choices.
Because she strongly values freedom and personal space, she won’t support anything or anyone who tries to take someone’s choice away. An important issue to her is a woman’s right to have access to an abortion and birth control.
These are rights she believes that all women should have, and that should not be restricted under any circumstance. What a woman decides to do with her body should be totally up to her. Men should not be able to dictate a woman’s sexual lifestyle.
CANCER (June 21 - July 22)
A Cancer is deeply sentimental, and truly cares about the state of their family and home. Cancer women care deeply about matters of the family and their home. She believes in getting rid of traditional gender roles.
She particularly believes that men should be able to go on parental leave along with his spouse without being seen as less of man. It is not only a woman’s duty to take care of the children.
Men often want to spend time with their children as well and learn how to properly take care of them. A Cancer woman sees nothing wrong with this and doesn’t believe society should either.
LEO (July 23 - August 22)
A Leo woman truly dislikes being confined. She enjoys engaging in activities where she can share her thoughts in a creative way. Therefore, she is a huge advocate for women participating in sports and other fields of art.
She believes that through art women can bring about equality, as they can come up with clever ways to talk about the social and political issues women are facing today. A Leo woman knows that women can take part in the same activities as men and excel to the same heights if not higher.
VIRGO (August 23 - September 22)
Virgos are known for seeking goodness in others. They believe that all people are worth fighting for. A Virgo woman is especially health conscious, and therefore believes that all people should have access to healthcare.
People should be able to go to the doctor and be treated when they are sick. They shouldn’t have to suffer just because they can’t afford to get treatment. Healthcare should be a right, not a privilege. You will usually find a Virgo woman in a health or medical field where she can truly work to make a difference in an area she is passionate about.
LIBRA (September 23 - October 22)
Libras value justice above most things. They understand that the only thing that really matters and that should be important is one’s own personality and morals. A person should never try to control someone else’s lifestyle.
They especially believe this to be true when it comes to marriage. A Libra woman loves and appreciates marriage. She believes that a person is not truly complete without their lover. Therefore, she fights for same sex marriage. People should be able to marry whomever they please as long as they are happy and being treated fairly.
SCORPIO (October 23 - November 21)
A Scorpio woman, of all the water signs is a true feminine goddess. She represents strength and independence. Scorpios value privacy and freedom. Freedom to do as they please without being told that they need to change.
She fights for all things concerning a person’s right to privacy and their right to not be confined. She especially believes that surveillance takes away a person’s right to free speech and privacy. It allows a light to be shined on already marginalized communities and allows for them to continue to be confined and mistreated.
SAGITTARIUS (November 22 - December 21)
Sagittarius women value freedom more than any other zodiac sign. They believe in emotional, physical, financial and professional independence. A Sagittarius woman does not agree with compromising independence.
She enjoys being able to travel freely to explore different cultures and interact with new people. She believes that men have dominated the international system and have shaped how women are poorly treated around the world. She wants to challenge the way people look at power and security when it involves international relations.
CAPRICORN (December 22 - January 19)

The media helps to perpetuate meaningless stereotypes and heighten insecurities about the way one looks. A Pisces woman wants to end this and make it so that media channels are called out for using their power to negatively affect society.
