Mike Pompeo will speak at the Republican National Convention on August 25 to show his support for President Trump’s 2020 re-election campaign.

Since April 2018, Mike Pompeo has served as the U.S. Secretary of State, a position previously held by Rex Tillerson until he resigned in March earlier this year. Before him, Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, Condoleezza Rice, Colin Powell, and Madeleine Albright (the first female Secretary of State) have served. Prior to his position, Pompeo was in the U.S. House of Representatives, and was Director of the Central Intelligence Agency.

Like many members of the Republican Party or Tea Party, Pompeo is religious and it clearly comes through in his political positions. Not only has he been endorsed by the NRA, but he’s against abortion, gay marriage, affordable health care, and doesn’t believe climate change exists.

Susan was born and raised in Wichita, KS, and graduated from Wichita State University. According to her, she loves her hometown and wouldn’t have left if her husband didn’t become a politician.

“It used to be when someone was elected they bought a house and moved their entire family to Washington and that’s where they lived. That’s where the kids went to school. That’s where they made their home. But for us it could never be home. Wichita is home and we get back here as often as we can,” she told Wichita Magazine.

In 2010, when he was running for the House of Representatives, Susan was a major part of the campaign process.

According to an interview with Wichita Magazine, she said, “We decided we would do this together. We set out to do this like we would do any venture. I loved the campaigning part of it, much more than Mike did. We’ve laughed many times because there is no manual to tell you step-by-step how to do this, not even how to transition.” She appeared in a 30 second commercial for her husband as well.

She’s also involved in the Dwight D. Eisenhower Excellence in Public Service Series, which is “an organization dedicated to promoting female Republican leadership in the state of Kansas.” She donated more than $3,500 to the organization back in 2007 and 2008, and participates in their events.

In 2014, when Pompeo was a member of the House Select Committee On Benghazi, in which he asked Hillary Clinton questions. Apparently, Susan didn’t like his performance one bit.

“I was reminded, I had three opportunities for ten minutes each, my first one I asked [Hillary Clinton] about accountability, where I know wasn’t received so much as a — I gave myself an ‘A’ for that line of questioning. My son gave me a ‘C.’ My second set of questions I frankly didn’t do as well.
