The NFL star may be getting ready to pop the question!

On-again couple Danny Amendola and Olivia Culpo reconciled this summer after a breakup earlier this year, and now reports suggest an engagement may be in the near future for the NFL star and the former Miss Universe. According to US Weekly, we can expect to hear wedding bells for these two "sooner rather than later."
“Olivia and Danny are better than they’ve ever been this time around,” a source told the magazine, adding that the relationship is “very strong” and the pair are “very happy” since getting back together in June.
The engagement news may come as a surprise to some fans following the roller coaster breakup and reconciliation that occurred earlier this year.
Culpo, 26, confirmed the split back in March, announcing that she and the Miami Dolphins wide receiver, 32, had called it quits after over two years of dating.
In June, the couple sparked rumors they may have rekindled their romance after they were spotted together in Ibiza. By September, the pair confirmed they were officially back on with a sweet and sexy Instagram story courtesy of Culpo. "Sugar," she captioned a snap of her smooching her on-again love.
With a possible engagement on the horizon, the couple appears to be back and better than ever. But who is Danny Amendola? Here's everything you need to know about the pro-football player who may be about to take a knee!
1. He's a former Patriot
The NFL wide receiver signed with the Miami Dophins earlier this year following a four-year stint with the New England Patriots. Fans speculated the distance may have contributed to the couple's split, with a source telling US Weekly that Culpo, a New England native, had no intention of moving to Miami.
2. He started out as a Cowboy
Amendola launched his pro career in 2008 as an undrafted free agent with the Dallas Cowboys. His career got off to a rocky start, and the newbie spent the entire season on the team's practice squad, never seeing regular season action. He was later signed to the Philadelphia Eagles followed by the St. Louis Rams before he got his big break with the Patriots in 2013.
3. Go Red Raiders
The NFL star is a Texas Tech alum. When Amendola signed with the Pats in 2013, he replaced fellow former Texas Tech Red Raider Wes Welker as the team's wide receiver.
4. Charity efforts
Following the 2013 Boston Marathon Bombings, Amendola pledged to donate $100 dollars for every caught pass in the upcoming season (and $200 dollars for every dropped pass) to relief efforts.
5. He's (also) a model
Turns out Culpo isn't the only model in this power couple! Amendola signed with Ford Models back in 2017, becoming the first NFL athlete to sign with the agency. “While football has been my primary focus, I have always appreciated fashion and I look forward to collaborating with designers I admire and respect,” he gushed in the official press release.
6. He and Culpo began dating in 2016
The couple has one hell of a meet-cute story. Amendola told The Providence Journal that he first met the love of his life "on the corner of Hollywood and Vine, just walking down the street and we bumped into one another.” While fans still await a confirmation of the engagement news, it certainly seems like this couple is meant to be.
