Fans of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days have been eagerly watching as Angela Deem tries to seal the matrimonial deal with her much younger boyfriend Michael in Nigeria. Audiences have watched as she traveled across the world to meet the man she hoped would be the love of her life. While the relationship hasn't gone as smoothly as Angela might have hoped, she always had her daughter Scottie to help her through the tough times. Who is Angela's daughter, Scottie? New details about the child molestation and rape charges against her.
While Scottie has been around for emotional support and being a voice of reason to her lovestruck mother, she has some less than stellar moments in her own past. Who is Scottie and what should you know about her? Read on to learn more.
1. Close relationship
Scottie and Angela seem close. Scottie is an adult with two daughters and Angela spends time with all of them. She's been upfront with Scottie about her hopes for a future with Michael, even taking Scottie along to shop for an engagement ring. Scott wil. help with the shopping but she doesn't offer to help pay for the bling. Probably because she's skeptical of the whole affair.
2. Voice of reason
Scottie isn't afraid to step in and question some of Michael's claims about the relationship. When Angela tries to explain why Michael won't keep pictures of her on his phone, Scottie, like audiences, is sure its a lie.
3. Last minute warning
Scottie keeps up the pressure on Angela to be sensible, even as Angela is packing to get on a plane to Nigeria. Scottie notes the amount Angela has spent on flights and gifts and questions what Michael's motives might be. She won't even give Angela her blessing before she takes off.
4. Prior appearance
If it seems like Angela and Scottie have made for reality TV banter down to a fine art, it may be because they've done this before. Back in 2015, the mother-daughter pair went on Maury to find out who the father of Scott's oldest daughter was. But it wasn't Scottie or her boyfriend who had doubts — it was Angela. She insisted Scottie had had a one-night stand with an ex and that he was more likely to be the real father. DNA proved Angela wrong and Scottie was vindicated
5. And another appearance
The two of them apparently didn't get enough of Maury the first time around so Angela called the paternity of Scottie's second child into questions as well. The pair went back on the show and once again, Angela had it wrong and Scottie was right. But neither woman came across looking great on the show.
6. Still the doubter
Whatever else went on between Scottie and her mom after all the Maury appearances, they remain close now. Angela uses Scottie as a sounding board when she becomes worried about Michael's intentions. Scottie remains consistent in her stance that Michael is in it for the visa, not for love.
7. Like mother, like daughter?
The age difference between Michael and Angela is substantial — he's 30 to her 52 — but they're both adults and can do what they want. It appears Scottie is also interested in younger people, but her choices are flat-out illegal. A police report reveals that Scottie molested a 16-year-old boy. The report states, "Approximately two months prior, Ms. Scottie Deem, a good friend of the family, had Juvenile at her home while her boyfriend was out of town. While the Juvenile was there with her and her children, Ms. Deem had sexual intercourse with Juvenile.” Scottie was arrested in 2017 and released on bond. This month, she returned to court and was formally indicted on one count of aggravated child molestation, 11 counts of child molestation, and one count of statutory rape. Her next court date is in October.
