Who is Ellie Goulding's husband? Ellie Goulding is married to an old money art dealer!
The singer, 32, married her longtime love at York Minster Cathedral in North Yorkshire, England, wearing a stunning long-sleeved wedding gown and changing into two different party gowns as the night wore on. She shared a gorgeous shot of the traditional affair on her Instagram:
Caspar Jopling and Goulding announced their engagement the old-fashioned way in The Times of London newspaper. The 31-year-old singer and her 26-year-old fiancee have been dating for 18 months. How they met is pretty darling too, but we'll get to that in a bit. First, let's take a look at their announcement and all the details we know so far:
1. The announcement
"Mr C.W.F. Jopling and Miss E.J. Goulding. The engagement is announced between Caspar, son of The Hon Nicholas Jopling of Yorkshire and Mrs Jayne Warde-Aldam of Yorkshire, and Elena, daughter of Mr Arthur Goulding of Hertfordshire and Mrs Tracey Sumner of West Midlands.'
2. Who is Caspar?
Caspar attended the elite boarding school Eton before getting his degree in art history from Harvard. He works in strategy and Contemporary Art at Sotheby's. His uncle is Jay Jopling, a very famous and very wealthy art dealer.
3. How did they meet?
It was a royal connection for Ellie and Caspar. The couple met through mutual friends. Friends that happen to be part of the royal family. They met through Princess Eugenie and her fiancé James Brooksbank.
4. Why the newspaper?
Ellie and Caspar chose to announce their engagement the old-fashioned way because it would give her a chance to tell family and friends herself. She figured fans wouldn't catch on to the use of her real name, Elena.
5. Romance flourished
This past spring, Ellie told The Observer that her romance with Caspar flourished because she was on a break from touring. She said: "I thought for a long time that I could never really take the time to nurture a relationship because I'm never around. I haven't been touring for the past year, so I think this is the first time I've realised what it's like to be in a relationship and learn to be with someone. It also helps when you find someone who is very special and understands your job. The time that I spend somewhere is always so fleeting and I'm never in one place for long. That can stir up emotions, you're constantly re-evaluating and changing your life plans."
6. She's off the market
Prior to meeting Caspar, Ellie was on an on/off two year relationship with Dougie Poynter of McFly. She also dated Prince Harry, DJ Skillrex, Greg James, Jeremy Irvine, Niall Horan and Ed Sheeran.
