Are Donald Glover and Childish Gambino the same person? For someone who has lived under a rock for the last few years, this question probably eats at them on a daily basis. They look so much alike, after all!
Is Donald Glover — the actor most noted for his appearances on Community and Atlanta, and most recent role as Lando Calrissian in Solo: A Star Wars Story — really the same guy as the famous rapper whose “This Is America” music video recently broke the internet?
Yes, yes he is. And some people are just starting to realize this.
Apparently, there are some people who are are just finding this out to be true. And they can’t seem to accept the reality of the situation. Many conspiracy theories about the actor and rapper have surfaced, with some individuals believing Glover and Childish Gambino are twins who took on separate identities to troll us.
This internet-wide confusion has led to some of the most hilarious tweets and commentary about this mistaken identity situation.
So, yep, people are just starting to realize this. I mean, come on! Donald Glover and Childish Gambino have the same birthday, are from the same hometown, have the same girlfriend, and when you look either name up on Wikipedia, both names are present.
Perhaps the most hilarious part of all this is that some celebrities didn’t even realize that Donald Glover is, in fact, Childish Gambino. Cardi B herself tweeted that she was shocked at how similar the two looked. A few minutes after she tweeted that, she wrote, “Wait, I’m confuse now.” Although, she could be trolling us, too. You can never tell with her.
So, before you further embarrass yourself by admitting you didn’t know the two were the same person, keep that ish to yourself.
