How does the internet feel about the origin of our favorite scruffy-looking nerf herder?

Solo: A Star Wars Story is the new film in the Star Wars space-saga franchise. Without giving away spoilers (promise!), it’s basically an origin story for Han Solo, including how he came to find the Millennium Falcon and meet an also young Lando Calrissian.
The film stars Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo, Donald Glover as Lando, and of course Chewbacca, who was played by Joonas Suotamo.
Suotamo took over the role Chewbecca beginning with Episode VII: The Force Awakens. It also stars Thandie Newton, Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, and Paul Bettany as new characters, among others.
After original directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller were reportedly let go due to creative differences, revered film director Ron Howard took over. Howard, who was originally an actor in his youth, has gone on to become one of the most respected and successful directors in cinema, and his interesting connection to the Star Wars legacy actually made him the perfect person for the job.

Back when he was still acting, Ron Howard played a lead role in the 1973 film American Graffiti, which was written and directed by George Lucas.
If that wasn’t enough of a connection, the film also featured a pre-Star Wars Harrison Ford in a small but memorable role — so you could make the point that Ron Howard actually knew young Han Solo.
For many Star Wars fans, hearing the news of a younger actor taking over one of the most beloved characters in film history was met with a mix of frustration and curiosity. Who would take over? As it turns out, Alden Ehrenreich was hired for the job, and now, audiences are finally seeing his take on this classic Star Wars character.

The role of young Lando Calrissian, on the other hand, was practically just waiting to be accepted by Donald Glover. When the news of a Han Solo origin movie broke, many fans were already calling for Glover to play the part, and based on some of the reactions on Twitter, he’s becoming quite the scene stealer as well.
Technically it’s focused on Han Solo, but the love for Lando is strong.
With Solo: A Star Wars Story, its looks like we may get the answers as to how Han become the scruffy-looking nerf herder captain of the Millennium Falcon – or at the very least, some fantastic internet reactions.
