Signs That You're Ready To Move In Together, By Zodiac Sign

When deciding whether to move in together or not, a lot of things need to be considered. Maybe looking into astrology and planetary seasons can help you to see how the zodiac personalities do with roommates is a good first tactic.

Depending on your horoscope and zodiac sign, there are going to be some things that need to be discussed before shacking up together (which, let’s be honest, living in the same space is a big ordeal).

Some zodiac signs make fantastic roommates, others … not so great. But, if you love the other person enough – it could still be worth it.

Are you ready to take that next step in your relationship and move in together? This is a big decision to make. I mean, let’s be real – this decision often makes or breaks a relationship.

Sure, you may “feel” as if you already live together since you spend so many nights together already. But that’s not the same thing at all. That’s only a teeny tiny step compared to the plunge of actually moving in together.

When my hubby and I moved in together, I had zero doubts and frankly was only concerned about the bathroom situation (that’s a little too comfortable if you catch my drift).

However, once we were living together lots of things got brought up that took forever to compromise on. Particularly – decorating styles, chores, and alone time. Luckily, the relationship was (and is) worth working these things out. You absolutely CAN adjust to a new living situation. It just takes compromise, time, and love.

Spending lots of time together and both putting your names on the same lease are very different things. Outside of marriage, this is probably the biggest commitment you can make. So, take this step seriously!

Have I scared you yet? No? Good. That’s the first sign you’re ready for this next step! *wink, wink*

Find your zodiac sign (or your partner's zodiac sign) and see what things you should consider before taking the plunge of sharing a place with your mate, using astrology to help you to decide!

ARIES (March 21 – April 19)

The Aries need to be first in everything mixed with their optimistic, courageous, and determined natural tends to mean that they’re one of the first of the zodiac signs to be ready to move in with their significant other. However, Aries can also be a bit impulsive and short-tempered, so it’s important to make sure that the relationship can stand the adjustments of moving in together before committing to it.

For an Aries, it’s important to seriously evaluate whether or not your relationship can take your short temper being around the other person all the time.

TAURUS (April 20 – May 20)

The Taurus’ responsible and practical nature tend to make them more hesitant to move in with their significant others. Plus, the Taurus tends to dislike sudden changes, which can make the commitment of moving in together overwhelming.

For the Taurus, a “trial run” may be best before taking the plunge and getting rid of one of your places. Try “moving in” for like a week to two weeks and see how it feels. Maybe do a tradeoff and do this both ways to see which place works best for your schedules and your needs. If you two can survive the compromises of this situation, you’re likely to be able to make it work well enough to move in together.

GEMINI (May 21 – June 20)

The Gemini tends to be indecisive (especially about the big decision - like moving in together), but once they decide – they are likely to adapt to the new living situation quite easily.

For the Gemini, discuss what your partner expects “living together” to look like. Since Gemini’s tend to be extremely sociable, they have a tendency to annoy those who appreciate their alone time. Make sure you’re both on the same page for how much time you’ll spend together once you’re living together.

TIP: be ready to make a few compromises. Not everyone wants to be around another person constantly.

CANCER (June 21 – July 22)

The Cancer’s tendency towards being pessimistic tend to make them hesitant towards moving in with their partners. The fact that they also tend to be manipulative, insecure, and suspicious also don’t always make them to the best people to live with (“you didn’t lose the remote?! I don’t believe you!”)

For the Cancer, it may be best to have an open and honest conversation with your partner about whether or not they think they can handle the Cancer’s tendencies towards being emotional, moody, and insecure on a day to day basis.

LEO (July 23 – August 22)

The Leos tendency for being lazy and inflexible make them a bit difficult to live with. However, their tendency towards liking nice things and bright colors mean that you’re likely to end up sharing all kinds of great furniture and decorative pieces in your place together (if you decide this is what you want).

For Leos, their tendency towards hating being ignored mean that they need to evaluate whether they’re going to be able to handle the attention not being on them 100% of the time. I mean, once you’re living together – other things will need your partner's attention too. Make sure that you can handle this and have come up with a plan with your partner for how to handle your emotional needs (reasonably).

VIRGO (August 23 – September 22)

The Virgos tendency towards cleanliness makes them ideal roommates. Plus, they tend to enjoy healthy foods, so your pallet is likely to grow once you’re exposed to the new foods they enjoy.

With Virgo’s tendency towards being overly critical, it’s important to evaluate whether you can put up with this to the extent in which you will have to if you two move in together.

LIBRA (September 23 – October 22)

Libras are one of the easiest signs to get along with! And to be able to live within relative harmony. However, their tendency to avoid confrontation means that they’re likely to bottle their annoyances with you and carry a grudge (this is not healthy long-term). This also makes them more likely to be passive aggressive (probably without even realizing it).

Before moving in together, it’s important to have an open discussion about finding a balance in your relationship. For example, a balance between giving and take, not holding grudges, and communicating your annoyances with each other before they become bigger problems. Once you’ve mastered these things, you’re most likely ready to live together!

SCORPIO (October 23 – November 21)

The Scorpios tendency towards being secretive can be problematic for their roommates since it tends to always feel like they’re hiding something. Plus, they can be a tad on the violent side (so get ready for them to throw your belonging at the wall when you’ve really made them mad). More often than not though, they’re likely to be calm cool and collected as long as your being upfront with them and can give them credit when they’re right.

For Scorpios, it can be best to come right out with it and ask your Scorpio if they think they can keep these negative character traits in check well enough to be a respectful and harmonious roommate.

SAGITTARIUS (November 22 – December 21)

For those that don’t like to be over crowded, Sagittarius make ideal roommates as the Sags will enjoy lots of time outside of the house traveling or at other social engagements (a lot of times they’ll invite you, but you should end up with plenty of alone time if you still desire it). When they’re home, however, they can be a bit frustrating at they tend to promise more than they can deliver (he said he’d do all these chores, but only does one – you get it). Plus, they tend to be a bit impatient, so they’re likely to get frustrated with you when you point out all the chores they haven’t done.

For Sagittarius’, it’s important to evaluate whether you can handle how flakey they can be with their expectations. For example, can you handle the fact that they’re likely to be idealistic and promise more than they can deliver all the time? I mean, it could be just chores, but eventually, you’ll get annoyed by how much of the slack you’re picking up around the house. Plus, it starts to make them seem unreliable when they’re always late because they’re also idealistic about how much time tasks will take.

CAPRICORN (December 22 – January 19)

Capricorns tend to make great roommates as they are disciplined, responsible, and understand the status quo. All these things make them unlikely to be rude around the house (he’ll write “milk” on the grocery list when he finishes it, he’ll replace the toilet paper when he uses the last of it, etc.). However, Capricorns can also be condescending and unforgiving. So, when you forget to do something, it’s likely to be blown out of proportion. Especially since they don’t very often so they feel entitled to be annoyed when you do.

For Capricorns, it’s important to evaluate where the relationship is going before moving in together. Capricorns tend to be very family oriented, which means that if the other person doesn’t doesn’t like their family (and/or doesn’t see themselves settling down and starting a family with them), then it could be best to not take the “moving in together” plunge.

AQUARIUS (January 20 – February 18)

While Aquarius’ CAN make good roommates due to their ability to be good listeners, help others, be good problem solvers, and to enjoy their alone time so they’re not too needy socially. They tend to have some issues with romantic partners as roommates. Since they appreciate their alone time, they tend to have problems with the intimacy level of a romantic partner as a roommate. Things like sharing all the spaces and making compromises are hard for them.

For the Aquarius, consider having a place that is just the Aquarius’ (like an office or nook) so they can have their alone time when needed. If this is possible, the relationship should be able to stand moving in together.

PISCES (February 19 – March 20)

The Pisces tend to make very good roommates as they are likely to be selfless, intuitive, and achieve the best emotional relationships (so, don’t move in if you’re not ready to fall even deeper in love with them *wink, wink*). Their appreciation for music tends to mean that often, music will be playing in the house (except when they’re sleeping, which they are likely to do often).

For the Pisces, it’s important to have enough room that they can still achieve their alone time when needed. Pisces tend to be quite emotional with a need to escape reality every now and then, so they are likely to need a place to be alone with their thoughts (or to escape them for a bit). Make sure this is possible before moving in together.
