"She was afraid for her life."

Shocking new Johnny Manziel domestic abuse photos have just surfaced. If you recall, in 2016 Heisman trophy-winning quarterback Johnny Manziel was charged with domestic abuse against ex-girlfriend Colleen Crowley.

The domestic violence incident occurred at a Dallas hotel and continued in her car. In the hotel room, Manziel became angry when Crowley tried to leave and threw her on the bed causing bruises. When Manziel and Crowley left to get her car, his abuse continued. When Crowley tried to escape — even hiding in the bushes at one point — Manziel became furious, forced her back in the car and hit her.

When he got her back to her apartment she was terrified. She fled to a neighbor's house and Manziel ran away. The neighbor called 911. Following the incident, police said, "Detectives will thoroughly investigate the case to determine what criminal charges, if any, will be filed and victim services will be offered."

In court, Manziel's attorneys reached an agreement to dismiss the misdemeanor charge, which could have landed Manziel a year in jail and a $4,000 fine. "I'm thankful to both the court and prosecutor for their hard work and diligence in trying to come to a fair and just resolution for all parties involved," Manziel's lead attorney, Jim Darnell, said in a statement. "My client is pleased to be able to put this part of the situation behind him and is eager to satisfy the terms of the agreement."

Other details about the Johnny Manziel domestic abuse case:

1. Crowley begged the valet at the hotel for help.

When Crowley and Manziel left the hotel to go get her car she feared for her life. "When we got to the valet, I was crying and begged the valet, 'Please don't let him take me. I'm scared for my life," she wrote in a statement. "The valet replied, 'I don't know what to do,' and allowed Manziel to literally throw me in the front passenger seat of his car."

2. After the incident, Manziel was required to take anger management classes.

The former Cleveland Browns player was ordered to complete an anger management course and participate in the NFL's substance abuse program.

"If the undersigned defendant fails to meet one of the requirements of this agreement or is charged with a new offense, the defendant will be prosecuted for this offense," the agreement states. "A conditional dismissal is only the beginning of the process of educating an individual on how to make better choices when facing conflict. It is an important first step for a defendant. Success or failure will depend upon one's commitment to the treatment programs included."

"Johnny Football" may have been a big shot in college but his reckless behavior cost him an NFL career. He was drafted in 2014 and after two seasons of inconsistent playing, he was released as a free agent. He made headlines for all the wrong reason: his partying and his stint in rehab.

4. He assaulted a man in Austin.

Manziel has a history of assult. He was sued for one million dollars when he punched an employee at an Austin bar in the nose. The victim, Eric Norton, claimed he football player kept insisting he make drinks for him but as a barback, Norton couldn't. When he repeatedly told him he couldn't make him drinks, Manziel got angry and punched him in the face. The two fell to the floor before Manziel sprinted out the back door of the club.

Both of Manziel's agents wanted him to go back to rehab. "Though I will remain a friend and Johnny supporter, and he knows that I have worked tirelessly to arrange a number of professional options for him to continue to pursue, it has become painfully obvious that his future rests solely in his own hands," said one of his agents, Erik Burkhardt.

"His family and I have gone to great lengths to outline the steps we feel he must take to get his life in order," he continued. "Accountability is the foundation of any relationship, and without it, the function of my work is counterproductive."

6. Police didn't charge Manziel at first.

They claimed Crowley's answers to some questions were vague and she became increasingly uncooperative as the interview progressed. The neighbor who she fled to during the assault also said Crowley originally did not want the authorities involved but then changed her mind.

7. Pictures of Crowley's abuse were just released.
