It's hard not to wonder who exactly was married to Harvey Weinstein and if his wife knew about Hollywood's "open secret".

In the wake of the overwhelming amount of allegations of sexual harassment and assault surrounding Hollywood executive Harvey Weinstein, its no surprise that his wife of 10 years, Georgina Chapman, is leaving him.

The 41-year-old designer and co-founder of Marchesa released the following statement Oct. 10:

"My heart breaks for all the women who have suffered tremendous pain because of these unforgivable actions. I have chosen to leave my husband. Caring for my young children is my first priority and I ask the media for privacy at this time.”

The next day, Weinstein released the following statement about their split:

“Over the last week, there has been a lot of pain for my family that I take responsibility for. I sat down with my wife Georgina, who I love more than anything, and we discussed what was best for our family. We discussed the possibility of a separation and I encouraged her to do what was in her heart."

"In the end, she made the decision to separate. I understand, I love her and I love our children and hopefully, when I am better, I will be in their lives again. I support her decision, I am in counseling and perhaps, when I am better, we can rebuild.”

The couple married in 2007 and have two children together, 7-year-old India and 4-year-old Dashiell. Though Chapman announced a split with her husband, Weinstein said in an interview with the New York Post on Thursday that his wife is standing "100%" behind him and is helping him become a "better person."

"Georgina and I have talked about this at length," he said. "We went out with Lisa Bloom last night when we knew the article was coming out."

"Georgina will be with Lisa and others kicking my ass to be a better human being and to apologize to people for my bad behavior, to say I’m sorry, and to absolutely mean it.”

Since announcing her split from Weinstein, Chapman's history with the Hollywood sexual predator has come under microscopic view. Here's what we know about her:

1. Georgina Chapman is actively looking for a divorce attorney.

A source told Entertainment Tonight that the designer is actively looking for a divorce attorney and has asked friends for recommendations.

Chapman and Weinstein are not speaking.

"If anything needs to be communicated between them, it happens between [Weinstein's oldest child from a previous marriage], who is relaying information if need be."

She's also reportedly looking for a crisis PR firm.

2. Their marriage has been described as a "sexless business arrangement."

Daily Mail

A friend of the couple reportedly said that the marriage between Chapman and Weinstein was only to promote her clothing label, Marchesa.

The source described their marriage as a "sexless business arrangement."

3. Friends don't buy that she didn't know what was going on.

That same source said they didn't believe she didn't know about her husband's behavior.

"Georgina is a lovely person," they said. "But the idea she had no idea what was going on I find impossible to believe. Anything is possible, it’s just highly unlikely. She put up with an awful lot. But it worked for both of them."

4. People at Chapman's company are reportedly fleeing.

Daily Mail

There have been multiple reports that employees of Marchesa are fleeing the company. A top fashion publicist said, "everyone trying to leave."

"This is a f***ing tsunami right now. I don't think it is the end of it. I don't think we've seen all the collateral damage play out for all kinds of players."

5. There are reports that Weinstein verbally abused Chapman's staff.

Daily Mail

Apparently, he caused problems at Chapman's company and verbally abused her staff. He also publicly promoted his wife and not her business partner, Keren Craig.

6. When Chapman met Weinstein, she was an aspiring actress.

Daily Mail

When she first met Weinstein in 2004, she was an aspiring actress. She only abandoned her film career when Marchesa began to take off.

7. Weinstein reportedly forced directors to put Chapman in films.

Weinstein reportedly bullied directors into giving Chapman roles in movies alongside stars such as Jennifer Aniston and Clive Owen.

She played a prostitute named Candy in the movie "Derailed." She also appeared in "Factory Girl," "Grindhouse," and "The Nanny Diaries," all produced by Weinstein.

8. Weinstein also reportedly bullied celebrities into wearing Chapman's label.

Daily Mail

An LA-based publicist said that Weinstein threatened to pull publicity funding for Trasnamerica if actress Felicity Huffman didn't wear Marchesa on the red carpet.

Another report says Sienna Miller was told Weinstein would be "very upset" if she didn't wear Marchesa when she was invited to sit at his table at the Golden Globes after she starred in his movie Factory Girl.
