Kids do the darndest things.

Oh boy. I guess if you’re not used to being a parent, you forget that your home needs to be "kid-proofed." When kids are wandering around, it’s important to remember to put away the sharp objects, leave the cleaning products in the cabinets and hide the sex toys.

For Amy-Jade Barlow, forgetting to hide her sex toys really came back to bite her. After her boyfriend Ben Lauder spent the night, he left her house, leaving his penis ring on her bedside table. Not a father himself, Lauder probably didn’t think twice about his forgotten sex toy, and because of his carelessness, a rather embarrassing situation arose.

Two-year-old Macy, Barlow’s niece, being just as curious as any toddler, wandered into the room, found the pink penis ring and decided to make it her new bracelet. According to an interview with Metro, Lauder received a text message from Barlow saying, "ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?!"

"I just replied asking 'What?' and I was trying to think what I’d done wrong now," he said. "I was not expecting to get that at all; when the picture came through I just couldn’t believe it." She then sent him a photo of Macy sporting her brand new bracelet.

When speaking to the Daily Mail, Barlow said, "I was sat on the sofa and Macy had been talking about a new watch and kept going on about her new pink bracelet and I was like 'What is she talking about?' then I looked and I just couldn't believe it."

Barlow was quick to get it off her niece’s wrist and promptly hid it out of reach. With most of the damage under control, she was faced with explaining it to both her mom and sister.

Barlow said, "I found the whole thing so funny right away but it was so awkward explaining what had happened. My mum kept asking what it was but I just told her she doesn’t want to know."

On top of explaining the whole situation to her family, Barlow had to deal with the consequences of taking something away from a two-year-old. She spent much of the day hushing requests for the bracelet back as Macy searched through her draws trying to find it.

"I took it off her right away but she cried when I took it away," she said. "It’s now in a new very safe hiding place but Macy keeps asking for it and looking in my drawers."

Luckily, her family found it pretty amusing, too. The whole situation blew over pretty easily and I’m sure that both her and Lauder are now more careful about where they leave their toys.
