About Jason Stewart

My practice is dedicated to helping people improve their lives, increase well-being, and decrease suffering. What this means is different for each client, so I consider each client’s needs individually, within the context of his or her own life values. My approach to psychological growth and development emphasizes that people develop within relationships. Thus, the therapy relationship is fertile ground on which the client can develop balance, meaning, purpose, and vitality in life. My experience suggests that these elements of growth and development can result in a deep and resilient sense of “happiness.”

Life’s difficulties can be broad and overwhelming. I focus intently on the following client issues:

1.     Men’s Issues (e.g., changing social roles, work/play, fatherhood, male trauma, competition, anger regulation, masculine solitude vs. isolation, male intimacy, and what it means to “be a man.”)

2.     Work/Athletic/Performance Issues

3.     Addictive/Compulsive Behaviors

4.     Marital/Couples Counseling

My approach works by helping clients gain insight into conscious and unconscious factors that influence their experiences and behaviors. Clients then use this increased insight to help better understand and move towards a life based on personally defined values. I tend to work most effectively with clients who have established themselves in performance-oriented roles and are looking to increase their effectiveness and sense of personal value within those roles.
