About Dr. Alicia H. Clark

I am a Washington, DC–based licensed psychologist specializing in anxiety and relationships and author of Hack Your Anxiety: How to Make Anxiety Work for You In Life, Love, and All That You Do, which debuted as #1 New Release on Amazon in 2018. Weaving together modern neuroscience, case studies, and a step-by-step Toolkit, Hack Your Anxiety challenges current myths about anxiety and shows readers how to reclaim anxiety as the powerful information and energy source it is, leading to growth, success, and peace.

I have been named one of Washington’s Top Doctors by Washingtonian magazine and have served as adjunct clinical faculty at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology where I taught advanced psychopathology and applied clinical methods to doctoral candidates. I support early career psychologists through formal supervision and mentorship, and am involved in numerous professional organizations serving public mental health and wellness.

I am passionate about changing the stigma I believe worsens anxiety, and empowering people to take control of their emotional experiences and use them as powerful tools for growth and self-improvement. I speak often about stress, anxiety, and wellness, and my presentations have been invited to numerous professional conferences and organizations. I have worked extensively with various print, online, and news media, and have written for popular outlets including the NYTimes, Oprah Magazine, TIME, the Huffington Post, and Yahoo. I am a contributing blogger for Psychology Today, and maintain an active blog on my website, www.aliciaclarkpsyd.com.
